Early Chicago music when Terry Kath was alive before his untimely death was their best music, in my opinion. "Saturday In The Park" is another Chicago song that you two would love and would make you both happy. Your smiles and happiness are infectious, and your love of great music makes me smile.

The entire Chicago II album, and especially Side 2 where "Make Me Smile" resides, is fantastic. In the album, "Make Me Smile" is "interrupted" (delayed from its conclusion) by a series of interlude songs that climax with the heartfelt and deeply mesmerizing "Colour My World", after which we hear the conclusion of "Make Me Smile. I believe this album, among so many great Chicago creations, is their absolute best! R.I.P. Terry Kath!

Chicago was a favorite group of my husband and mine while we were dating in the 70's. In fact, the band that played for our wedding reception played this and many of Chicago's music. They had the brass instruments and everything. They sounded just like them. Such great memories! We are still married, 50 years later!

The correct pronounciation is "Shi-ca-go", the first syllable the same as in "chiffon". Terry Kath really shines in this song, as well as the horns, but on your next listen focus on the drums. Danny Seraphine is Peart-like with his drumming here.

I like their music from when they were "Chicago Transit Authority" (CTA)....that was from their EARLY days!! I always said it "shi-COG-o".... :) There is NOT A BAD SONG by this band. Even after Terry Kath passed...and, their sound changed in the 80s....it was a softer sound - but, I like both sounds....just prefer THIS time period!! HUGS, YA'LL!!

Agree……the music from the seventies. Not like what’s popular today…..the stars can’t play instruments and don’t write half of their own stuff. These folks…..write the song, compose the music, sing it and play the instruments. Today…….they even use auto tune to make themselves sound better than they are.
