Hello everybody, I was one of the people reporting on these sightings (you can check our videos on our channel) and I'm gonna copy paste what I wrote on reddit just minutes ago: Looking back to the time we were still making Restricted Access videos, I had my doubts about this whole thing. Mainly because it was all reported to only 2 (maybe 3) websites and many of the witnesses didn't forget to mention that they first researched the topic, then found Phantoms and Monsters and that's why they reported the story there... That always seemed fishy to me. I like Tobias, I like Lon, and the Mothman is a topic that always interested me, so I really wanted to tell the story of what was happening in Chicago. Sadly, I never got anything concrete, no real evidence. I've been given contact information to some of the witnesses, but most of them never replied or stopped replying after the first message and trust me, I wasn't being pushy or anything like that. This all actually comes from a person who was a believer at the start, I really wanted to inform the world about the paranormal in a "scientific", skeptical way, but throughout the (great, I must say) year we were making Restricted Access videos, I'd become a complete skeptic on the whole paranormal topic. And that makes me sad. People in this field are very often completely delusional, believing everybody (I used to be like that too) and there are investigators who don't really investigate, they just report on everything they are told at face value. Take the great Budd Hopkins (RIP) and his Linda Cortile investigation - he made so many mistakes during the investigation (never checking up what the weather was like during the abduction) and believing 100% to the obviously completely made up story by Linda, backed by absolutely nothing but her words. That isn't an investigation, that's all just him wanting to believe. And that's also what 99.9% of all the "investigative" work current paranormal investigators do - blindly believing. Sorry if that all sounds too harsh or anything, I just became really sick of this field, the liars and fakers. Just look at how many subscribers SecureTeam10 has with his faked videos and people love him and believe him. That's not something I or anybody can change. So, all in all, I don't know if anybody faked the Mothman sightings in and around Chicago. All I know is that I wasn't able to get any concrete evidence on it.

I used to volunteer for BFRO and followed up on so many sighting reports. It is VERY easy to determine over a phone interview whether a person is lying and making up a story. So I don’t understand how these fake encounters made it past scrutiny?? It makes me seriously question the honesty and integrity of the guys allowing these reports to see the light of day.
