I was out of breath just watching this scene! It was thrilling watching this epic chase, the actors are as kickass as the characters, doing all their own stunts. And I love how the others are always killing themselves to catch the bad guy and then Voight just walks up at the end, cool as a cucumber. And the expression on his face! "How am I gonna slap some answers out of this scumbag if he already went splat?!"

Jay had the best chases and physical fights on this show since day 1!! His and Amaro's chase was brilliant in 2x07 and all the crossover episodes with SUV were another level of genius, as well as Jay's solo chase in 2x02, and the one that wasn't put in this video, from 6x02 - all brilliantly done. Plus, the chase and the fight between Jay and the gang member of the Latin Kings in 1x11 is still worthy of the Bourne franchise - brilliant choreography. All of these involved Jay, and he has done even more great stunts on this show. And if you closely follow the show and the actor, it's understandable why Halstead, in particular, had so many great chases/fights. It's because the actor, Jesse Lee Soffer, is the best-trained actor out of the whole cast. Few fun facts for people who maybe just started to watch PD or those who don't know: Brian Luce is an expert and producer on the show, a real veteran Chicago cop, and he and Jesse have been basically best buddies since day one, their families became friends. And Luce said that Jesse is the only one among the cast who could make a great cop in real life. Jesse is the best shooter out of the cast in real life - he is an excellent shooter, and is also the fittest, in great physical shape. Just a few of the curiosities. But this is also why, it pis*es me off even more, how the new producers and writers treated Halstead character since mid-season 7. They ruined him by involving him with yet another, too-dramatic romantic relationship with Hailey, and they ruined his relationship with Hank. Hank and Jay were only getting closer through the years, and after Erin left they were absolutely on the same page, they were on the trajectory to be even closer after season 6, and then, in season 7, it all got ruined because the writers& producers bent to the public pressure to make a show less badass, they went wrong about the police reform issue (after Floyd case and protests - if you remember this huge dispute about TV cop shows in the media) and they dragged all characters and the show with it, but mostly Jay and Hank were hurt by this storyline, and their relationship. Even the actor said in a few interviews, he wanted Jay to go in the opposite direction, and be closer to Hank, not butt heads with him. So now I'm not surprised at all that Jesse decided to leave the show and left, you can tell by these interviews, that he was not happy with how they wrote his character for the past 4 seasons. The quality of the show declined in general, that is a fact. The clips in this video only made me more nostalgic about the old Chicago PD, made me think how great it once was, and that I miss it because the current Chicago PD is nowhere near as good! And Jesse, who was absolutely brilliant as badass and sarcastic Halstead in the first 6 seasons, and worked so hard and gave his all for all these years, simply deserved better in the last 4 seasons of the show!! And the fans deserved a better story and ending for Halstead as well! I don't know if he will come back to wrap the Halstead storyline better and once and for all, I hope so, but it doesn't matter either way for me, because I no longer watch the current Chicago PD. The best seasons will always be seasons 1- 6 and the Infection crossover episodes at the start of season 7, after that, it all went downhill.

Halstead had the best stunts on this show, always. Jesse is one of the best runners I've ever seen, he just looks excellent while running, like it is all effortless for him, and he has very quick feet. In comparison, Ruzek always looked clumsy while running because the actor who plays Ruz isn't as fit as Jesse, he is heavier, and he runs slower, it's visible. Fun fact: Jesse did most of his physical stunts on the show, especially in the early seasons, he also has a black belt in some type of martial arts, but I don't remember now which one exactly. I read it in the interview. God, I miss this, I miss the old Chicago PD !! With the old, original team, I miss the old Halstead who was badass and had a sarcastic sense of humor, and when all the characters were more badass and the action scenes were way, way better! The old is gold! The absolutely brilliant seasons of this show will always be seasons 1 -5, and then the good ones were still season 6 and the start of season 7, but seasons 8,9, 10 were horrible, and not the same show. My favorite characters will always be the original Hank (nowadays Hank is way too bland), Olinsky, Halstead from seasons 1-6, Erin and Mouse.

Yes, it is. He holds it perfectly, he checks his surroundings and positions his weapon accordingly. And for your information, not only real Chicago cops are experts on these things on the set of this show, so actors do it accurately, but also Jesse Lee Soffer, who plays Halstead, in real life, is excellent shot himself, the best one out of the whole cast, not to mention his grandfather was a real, professional soldier and veteran of few wars like Jay on the show. So he knows perfectly well how to hold a gun, smartass.
