Imagine how many concerts the original members have performed…now going into their 58th year. I just can’t imagine such a hard lifestyle. Always traveling and always doing pretty much the same songs for 58 years! Incredible. I didn’t know Robert Lamm could sound so much like Terry Kath. But he clearly does in the opening song. 😊

Killer introduction. Crazy how people expect a Chicago from 1972. Give these guys props for keeping it alive and giving us an opportunity to witness greatness.
@SuiGenerisMan5 жыл бұрын
"Witness Greatness " ? You mean thanks for keeping it alive for those of us who MISSED OR MISS the greatness that was. This is a nostalgia band, not the real thing and not even a shadow of what was in 1972 - a very poor version at that. Just saying, you kinda oversold it.

I must confess when I first heard this group of guys singing and playing, I was like , okay ,um gonna buy their album and listen to it even if it kills me, a bunch of clean cut White guys singing and playing. Another group of beach boys and three dogs nights. It wasn't until some 30 years later I was starting to reminisce about all the many bands who were actually singing and playing music and which group came to mind? Chicago and Rare Earth , man it's really nice to see and hear live bands perform especially when you can actually listen to the words in the music . Man these guys are still maintaining.

Still the greatest ! No other group compares to them in creativity, endurance, variety of music,; I might add that simply from a musician's POV, their repertoire is like the classical music from the great composers of the historical periods of music,,---like symphonies, concertos, sonatas, even operettas ---played hundreds of times down through time---to an audience that never tires of hearing it performed; the first real timeless American pop music. Only in the USA could this music arise.

I'm just learning viewing, listening to, the New Chicago. I'm a Huge Fan of Robert Lamm for many reasons. Aside from his incredible versatile talent, he's a very intelligent and knowledgeable interviewee. I love hearing him talk about the band. Also I Love his Performance. Here I get such a Kick out of him when he does some of the parts that Terry used to do like the intro song and: "It Just doesn't matter any how". Robert is so impressive that at his age, you can easily see He's a Rocker! and He Rocks Well. I still Dig his voice, regardless how senior it is. All in All, I Love these guys, the original band members. I've seen interviews with them and there's no ego between them. A bunch of friendly Rocker, professional musicians, artists, that have been getting along for over 50 years! What band has the Personal Relationship Stats or whatever that these guys have... I wonder... I remember hearing at one time that they hadn't missed a gig in 50 years... if that's true, even near true, that's incredibly amazing fantastic... magical! How could that be? I can't even imagine. I heard that the only gig they only half missed is when at one of their concerts, the stage collapsed... I'm not sure if they went on or not, or played a bit, not sure. Okay, So I have to watch and read more interviews about this New Chicago Band. By the way, I'm looking for an interview where Robert Lamm says that Terry Kath was his Hero. He says a lot of cool stuff about Terry and then says that Terry was his Hero.

Hey, you know band members move on and original members must get sick of playing the same tunes for years, so they change things to make songs fresh. I know you can't replace Pete Cetera's voice, but they did a really great job in playing it how it was back in 1970.
