Like getting a backstage pass without the cost. Thank you. When I was a kid I played your albums at 16rpm so I could pick out the horn parts at about an octave lower, and wrote the whole score to Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon, Introduction, 25 or 6 to 4, and Saturday in the Park. We put together a teenage band and I still have a recording.

Can't wait to hear Chicago live in Vegas again after this entire album is done. Keep it going another 46 years guys... Wally Hanson Hanson Music Studios

Incredibly refreshing to hear new Chicago horn licks and part of a new song that has some of the old seventies spirit to it! C'mon Chicago knock one out of the park!

They really got my hopes up when they put this album out. I thought this would be the first of many new albums. They invented a new mobile recording technology and I thought they were going to make new music wherever they went. Then Scheff left, one of their lead songwriters. The new guy who replaced Scheff doesn't write, so it's up to Lamm and Pankow. This was their last album they put out and it was a damn good one.
@artcorvolet3 жыл бұрын
Yup, all over now, just a shell of a band
@lamarravery40943 жыл бұрын
@@artcorvolet I haven't seen them in concert since 1999. They were playing the same old songs, never doing anything new. I wouldn't pay to see them now, only if Peter came back and that's not going to happen.
@razorback99262 жыл бұрын
Lamm and Pankow have written a ton of Chicago hits, it’s probably just a case of making easy money touring, and not really caring about writing new music since it won’t get played on radio anyway, and the sales will be minimal. I’d settle for a new CD every 5-10 years.

Loughnane, Pankow, and Parazaider were cigarette smokers in their early years, which I presume they ceased being long ago, however, it's surprising that they have any lung power left to continue to play their horns at their ages of nearly 70.

While Jason, Keith, and Tris are talented in their own right, quality control should go through these four guys. Makin' music the way they did it originally....not overproduced ala Foster and the others. Do it guys from the heart....

SOUNDS LIKE "TAKE A CHANCE" WITH THE OLD DONNIE DACUS YEARS
@sturoc07 жыл бұрын
A long way from the years at Caribou. Stop by a hotel room do a couple hours of PT takes and leave. For the old guys its new and convenient- they don't have the time, energy or patience to spend weeks in a recording studio. Now its just all manufactured music. Sadly the days of being 'sequestered' in that mountain studio are gone.
@Frau446 жыл бұрын
sturoc0 The best music of Chicago came with Terry Kath. Caribou Ranch was a double edged sword Imo, but I cannot deny CTA's early years at the Ranch. Fantastic music. Missing Terry especially on the eve of the 40th anniversary of his tragic death. 1/23/2018 RIP Terry
@MeTuLHeD6 жыл бұрын
As great as Terry Kath was...and I'm not taking anything away from his guitar skill...these guys were always the compositional core of Chicago. And the production on this disc is pristine. Can't really be faulted.

A band that opted for cheese instead of grit.Then blamed Peter .You went on to produce schlock hiring outside writers and losing the integrity of the original band. Donnie Dacus was right to feel less than compelled to stick with you guys as the music quality declined rapidly . Then losing Jason and Bill. Sure you're all very professional and talented but your time is long, long gone. The latest offerings...laughable and you thought you'd compare yourselves to Steely Dan..hardly. An Old fan of the Chicago that wasn't bought by L.A.types. Sell outs alright.

Kinda odd. Not exactly the big studio, but still, about as intimate with the guys as I've ever seen.They're not exactly ripping it up, but maybe that's the trick; they don't play loud? The feeling I get is, they're not necessarily the brightest bulbs in the chandelier, but I suppose that is the only way they could possibly stand doing it still after 46 years...
