Im trying to do the same retrofit ony my 01 golf 4, but im using OEM Wiring, and i also have a brown thick wire for ground and blue gray cable for lighting, but i have and another 2 cables red/grey and brown/black, and i don't know where to connect them..
@TidyChi3 жыл бұрын
Hi, my guess is, the spare wires are to hook up the empty slot for the heated seats in your fuse box, you should see a blank slot there. I wasn’t able to locate behind the fuse box to do this so I discarded the extra wires and used the “piggy back” fuse connector. I’m not 100% on this but that is what I think they might be.
@zoober22173 жыл бұрын
@@TidyChi Yep and i think that, but um not sure, the res/gray is for my fuse box for sure, but black/brown on the diagram is again to my fusebox, but on another fuse and the question is, on my back screen switch i also have black/brown, can i hook up there?

I have just got my loom and there are 2 wires that say CCM on do you know what they are for
@TidyChi3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I have no idea what CCM stands for. At 3:44 there’s a picture of the wires and where I connected them in my car. I remember there was 1 wire that isn’t pictured, that I didn’t use in this kit, and that was meant to go behind the fuse box into the spare slot for the heated seat fuse. This connected directly to the battery. But I didn’t end up using this wire as I used the piggy back fuse connector instead.

Hi I have the kufatec loom for my mk5 golf, I have literally got everything fitted apart from the permanent plus (live) and the other two that are meant to go into the back of the fuse box in a blank slot. Where did you wire the permanent live up to or was it the one you piggy backed into your fuse box?
@TidyChi2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I wired the permanent live via the piggy back fuse connector, which is using the same fuse slot for the head unit.

Hey, is it true that all octavia RS mk1 seats have heating they just need to be connected?
@TidyChi2 жыл бұрын
I dont think this is true but Im not 100% sure. If they have heating, the plugs for the wiring should be under the seats.
@svenlazic2 жыл бұрын
@@TidyChi ok thanks for the response, i will look into that
@davidcorreira54115 жыл бұрын
Hello Chi, so the permanent live always has power to it, wouldn’t that kill the battery if you left the seats on when the car isn’t running? Also what color is the ignition wire on the wiring loom, and the color of the wire you tapped into to the heated screen switch?
@TidyChi5 жыл бұрын
David Correira hi, sorry for very late reply. If I leave the seats on and turn my car off, the seats will turn off, not sure how or why this works, maybe because of the ignition wire? This wire is grey on the wiring loom and I tapped into a blue wire at the back of my heated screen switch.

Looking to buy the same wiring loom for my MK4 golf , is it pretty much plug and play and did the loom need any adapters etc or was it ready to be fitted on the car ? Thanks in advance
@TidyChi6 жыл бұрын
M G. Hi, The only other things I bout separately were the switches and the piggy back fuse connector. Everything else was kinda plug and play. The loom will come with the plug adapters for your seats. Also there is a way of using the empty fuse slot in your fuse box instead of using a piggy back fuse connector, this will require you to wire from the “switch live” to behind the box, the wiring loom will come with an extra “loose” wire for this, but it was just easier for me to use the piggy back fuse connector as I was unable to get behind my fuse box. Hope that makes sense and helps.
