😊Got one. Needed carb kit. Got the carb kit and aftermarket carb. Aftermarket works fine after adjustment. Airfilter setup of the mantis is crappy(way too small)

I have a mantis that I found up under an old house that our church bought. The house was behind our church and the old gentleman that lived there ran a small nursery operation in the back of the property. It had been under the house so long that the tines had rotted completely off the thing. I replaced the tines and rebuilt the carb. Been using it for about ten years. I think it’s pretty close to forty years old and runs great. They do last forever!!!

Here's a trick I use when replacing the primer bulb. Mash the bulb in and ease up. Most of the time this will get the gas to start flowing into the primer bulb. If you push down on the bulb too fast or you keep pumping it, all you're doing is pushing the gas back into the tank. Pushing down and then slowly raising the bulb while your thumb is still on it will allow the line to fill with gas.

The Mantis tiller reminds me of the old Lawn Boy mowers. Three things that would kill them? Straight gasoline fuel. dirt in the reed valves and worn crankcase seals. Definitely outlasted Briggs and Stratton engines.

The eggs you get from your own chickens will be higher in vitamins than store bought and will stay fresher longer if you dont wash them they have a coating on the outside that helps keep them fresh you can smash up the shells and feed them back to the chickens let them run free and your yard will be bug free in no time good luck

This is the first time I have tinkered with a lawnmower.....ever. As you have given me confidence pulling apart a carby and airfilter and other things, I was able to pull apart a free mower that was sitting for 8 yeras and put it back together again and with the first pull it started.. Where do I begin? I never thought to stretch those fuel lines. I've rebuilt alot of carbs from 2cyle to 4bbl. I always use carb cleaner and compressed air. Your enthusiasm over getting an engine to run is contagious.I can recall not giving up until the engine fired! Having chickens and fresh eggs is very sustainable. Once the chicks mature, feed them anything. Twice a year we had lobster and gave the chickens the shells. The next day the egg yolks were dark orange! In my opinion your videos are so detailed and informative that anyone could watch them and try their hand at repairs. Even those who can't, it's great to see what was done to repair their equipment and that's invaluable. I learned most of what I know from watching and helping Technicians from Auto Mechanics to the Glamour Trades! You may just inspire kids to enter the trades. There's a deficit of Trades persons. Talking up Mfgrs and cautioning consumers against problematic new equipment is extraordinary! I love that they listen to you. Finally we have a voice! Thank you, Bre! Your efforts go far beyond what you may realize!

Got it for free ten years ago and then started doing no-till gardening so it's just been sitting. Did five-year ago me store it properly the way Bre shows? Your chicks are adorable! We finally got four girls after talking about it for years. Ours are a little over a year old and they look for us to come play with them every day. If you socialize with them, they will come running when they see you, especially if you bring them goodies everyday. Ours love Cheerios and crushed corn chips! You will love them! Not sure how you're going to keep them, but they do need a lot of room. Those coops they sell ain't gonna cut it. I hope you'll keep us posted on them.

I rented a Mantis tiller a couple of years ago from home depot. LOVED IT !! I couldn't believe how big of a job such a little machine could do.

My father worked on small engine repair the last 40 years of his life. He repaired a Mantis Tiller and gave it to my brother. One tank full of paint thinner and it was done. I grew up in Grove, Ok and now live in Tulsa. We raised 5 buildings of chickens at a time. There was 8,000 in each building. From new chicks to laying eggs and off to laying houses. As a teenager I worked all over NE Oklahoma and Arkansas on chicken catching crews. Good luck with the Chicks, since you are the Chickanic you should do good. At that size they will eat 24/7 and grow fast. Believe it or not back in the early 70's we would open the ends of the building and let the chickens out. Main predators during day was crows. At night they all went back in building, so we closed doors.

Chicken Suggestion for the chickanic. As the chick's grow, keep raising the feeder and waters to the level of their back. They can still reach up and eat and drink, but it will save lots of wasted feed as well as keep track out of the feeder and waters. That has worked for 80 years.

The one way valves in the top of the carb can be rejuvenated with Gunk Gallon carb dip and and ultrasonic cleaner I just had one that would not prime at all and soaking that plate in the US opened back up and operated like new. It did take quite a while. I also have one of those Mantis tillers and it is a beast.

My Poulan has worked very well for me. Used it just a couple of days ago after it had been sitting all winter. Yes, I *DID* fill the tank and carb with Mystery Oil! Started right up after I changed it out for good gas. I learned THAT little trick from YOU, Bre! Thanks!! ❤

3 weeks ago! They're about the same age as mine! I have a straight run of Whiting True Blues(Blue Egg Layers). I'm definitely going to have more roosters than I need. If you have 16 hens, your flock will support two roosters. If you or your husband ever have business near the DFW metro area, you're welcome to one or two! Besides blue eggs, Whiting True Blues were also bred to have pretty feathers for making fly fishing lures, so they're going to be very pretty besides being able to potentially breed Olive egg-laying hens for you. Serious offer, I'm probably going to have at least 10 spare roosters that I'm going to have to figure out what to do with them!
