Never tried a phall in an Indian on account of several vindaloos that have torn me a new arseh0le and fridge stored toilet roll being required after😭 Have yet to be impressed by a shop bought curry but this one looks half decent! sounded decent to be fair, always thought a phall would be too hot for me, but this sounded decent, i like madras heard u mention that, do like herons, they have some good deals on sometimes, cheaper than the bigger supermarkets

Thanks Papparoni. I'd like to try this but I don't think Heron Foods are in my area (SW London). Something I had a few days ago and thought tasted really good (with a little heat): a chicken samosa which is new to Lidl. They also do a vegetable samosa.

That looked delicious, and as expected to not nearly be as hot as the stuff you'll get in authentic dishes. It reminds me of some of the Indian frozen curries you get in Iceland, they're pretty tasty! I gotta try this one!

a friend of mine calls Phall the FOOL curry, because after a few beers you'd be a FOOL to order it. i tried it years ago from a restaurant (i did not order it) and it almost ruined my own food.

Yeah definitely burns the throat more then the mouth I had one a couple of nights ago, you are bang on though mate no where near as hot as a phall from an Indian restaurant. I’ve had a proper phall once about two years ago and would never have one again I’ve never felt a burn like that before & I love my spice.

I regularly eat the Vindaloo Heron one which is gorgeous and my kinda spice. I have the Phall one in the freezer and will have it tonight which will be spicier than Vindaloo! Can’t wait to try it! X

Nice one Papp... This Indian Essence Chicken Phall Curry looks to be a fairly decent attempt at a Hot Chicken Curry... And at £2.00 a pop mate... It's a decent price too... There very good them curries from Heron but I will leave that one alone it will bring back bad memories. I once had a prawn Phall in an Indian restaurant we used to use regularly from work and it was evil the waiter said I wouldn't be able to eat it so I thought watch me it was a lot of effort but I did manage to finish it and I got a free dessert but never again. There is one thing you never see these days these the bombay duck ( dried fish ) I seem to think that the Environmental Health banned them years ago just googled it yes fish imports from India were banned in 1995 into the EU after Salmonella was found in a batch.

From Cock flavour yesterday to something Phal today, your tastebuds are never bored Papp. It looks good and I'll take your word for the heat rating having never tried a phal curry to rate myself 🌶️🌡️🤔 I'm not sure about going to the deep end of the pool. The wading end is more my thing. Phal and nice review. Cheers john. Had to go to a meeting today that saw me till lunchtime, so on the way home I stopped at Hungry Jacks (burger king equivalent) and bought a flame grilled whopper burger patty with lettuce tomato onion pickle mayo and sauce $5.10 to try in the OEP GF tortilla. Yeh not bad, but not as good as the Macca's one was.

I've never seen or noticed it before and cannot remember anyone I know saying anything about it and I know for certain it's not in the regular supermarkets as a sauce or paste. Might be an English only exclusive. If it's that damned Hot, I'll do a taste test first before diving in..
