Paying attention to all his scenes with him rambling about the RAF, I love how they subtly hint that Fowler actually never piloted a plane. He does explicitly mention that soldiers “hop on the old crate and chucks away”, but never was it mentioned that a chicken of all things (since this film obviously mainly revolves around the chickens) can’t actually fly the plane. Boy Chicken Run does get better on rewatch with these minor details.

At first, Fowler seemed annoying and cranky to me, but sometimes there are some moments where he’s a bit encouraging and he does the right thing like he encouraged Rocky to go save ginger and he did then after that he reward him with that metal of bravery . Then later his most important role was, he was piloting the crate plane to freedom. That kind of made him the original tritagonist.
