Stan Webb seriously underrated, saw Chicken Shack live in 67 with Christine Perfect, fantastic.

What we have to remember is that Etta James was exceptional and one of the blues all time greats. I love all versions of this song thanks for uploading.

I saw them at The Wooden Bridge pub in Guildford circa 1978 where they played in front of about two dozen people. They were very good but looked daggers and muttered something grumpily when I asked if they'd play "I'd Rather Go Blind". I know Chicken Shack were more than Christine Perfect but didn't realize they felt so touchy about their chart hit. Pleased to hear it's back on the repertoire.

Anybody else notice that the chords / music are identical to, but preceeded "Tennessee Whisky" by decades? Same chords & melody line, even the opening guitar riffs are nearly identical. Chris ripped them off from Etta James and certainly this Chicken Shack version (both these versions are awesome!).

I saw Chicken Shack a few times during the 60s and 70s. Also more recently in Dartford. This is one of my all time favourites but I do not like the way he has 'revised' ??? or re-interpretted it. Destroyed the song. Bad night for Stan I guess. or me!!

why did he run away from the gig at the Y centre in Leicester not only upset the fans but the band and the man that booked them, all he had was 2 hits in the 60s and thinks some big shit rockstar dtckhead

Get real. If BB King rated him highly, that tells me everything. The blues isn't about "hits".
