The Jamaican Cooking Journey I’m late, but Big Thank you for this. My parents emigrated to this country from Jamaica with my brothers, I was born here and unfortunately, I lost my Mom at the age of 16. Mommy showed me how to fend for myself as she used to say, cooking, cleaning, sewing, how to carry myself as a young lady, but there were a few things she didn’t get to share with me. I really appreciate this because I am showing my daughters how to take care of themselves and carry on the traditions. Much much love to you !❤️🙏🏾❤️

Hello Ms. Debbie. Do you know anything about a gungu peas with pig tail dish? I had it at a Jamaican restaurant here in Brooklyn once and it was so delicious but that restaurant moved and the other restaurants in the area do not make it.
@thejamaicancookingjourney6 жыл бұрын
would that be gungo soup with pig tail
@frnny-sf8ii6 жыл бұрын
No. Its was more like stew gungu peas with pig tails. The pig tails were cut round like small oxtails. The restaurant served it with white rice and they only sold that dish on Saturdays.
@lu-hd1fu6 жыл бұрын
Could still be stew peas maybe and they use gungo peas instead of the red kidney beans?
