Smart sardar ji # awesome recipe # and cherry on top BENGALI language. Sardar harpal ji tusi great ho .

Awesome Bangla and nice recipe. Here posto was used only to thicken the gravy. With so much Garam masala and Khara masala you are bound to lose the subtle flavour of the poppy seed. Try this - - Boil the meat (You can use lamb also, that tastes better), fry finely chopped ginger, add chopped onion, green chilies, and fennel seed powder, salt (no turmeric or red chili powder please) fry till soft. Add poppy paste and the left over water from the boiling pot (100gm Posto for 1/2 kg meat + 150 ml water), bring to boil. Add pre-boiled meat and thicken the gravy on low flame. No coriander please. Tastes better after few hours.

@vijayninel Yes... isn't that great????? We as Indians should know 2 other regional languages besides our own and of course Hindi & English is always there ... I was pleasantly surprised & impressed by Chef Harpal's Bengali ... He may not have a command over the language, but knows enough to conduct a whole show!

A Sardar speaking a different language, always sounds good ... I have a Sardar friend who speaks impeccable Marathi and everybody tells him he sounds sexy. I loved this tube, mainly because of the Sweet Bengali language. Had no problem understanding it fully. The recipe is fantastic also ... just like the "Bongs" ... I think they are sweet people, who speak a sweet language. Sir, how about doing this in Marathi next time and teaching us some Kolhapuri Pandhra rassa?????

This is a traditional dish of Medinipur, Bankura and Birbhum.... One question, whenever I try to do this, I get a bitter taste. What could be the reason ? Is my posto getting charred ?
