Chicks Saddlery Tack Haul Unboxing and Reviews

One of my hauls from ChicksSaddlery.com came in the mail today! Super stoked and happy with my purchase. I find they are one of the cheapest places to go for horse tack, but have some real gems of tack and what not for sale. Of course you get your occasional hit and miss but I'm overall happy with my order. Sorry about the camera going out of focus, my lens got scratched.

For the shedding blade, you can open it up to get a bigger area, like on theirs back, sides and rump (my favorite place to open it up for). And if you kinda squeeze from the blade (the back of the blade on your hand) it's easier to get it hooked into place when you're closing it up, rather than try to squeeze the already closed together handles together.

In that saddle bag, with how big it is, you could fin a first aid kit in there really easily 😂 it would be very helpful especially if your doing a trail in thick woods

+Xeqlover I've ordered from them a few times and they boxes always seem to be different lol. I'm pretty sure reusing boxes is one way they help keep costs so low. :)

I'm sorry but the thought of someone filing their horses feet themselves scares me. This one uneducated lady would do her own farrier work and trimmed their horses feet till they bled and would wrap their feet up. Make sure you learn and look up stuff before you take that straight to your horse and file his hooves.

Megan Cochasourus Dont worry! I dont do regular trims on my horse at all. And If you have a nice enough farrier (like mine! lol) he or she will show you how to do a mustang roll the correct way. :) I know what lady you are talking about that ruined her horses feet. She used electrical tools and all on their feet. A few even died. :(

youlooksocool Yes this company is extremely cheap. You also can get brand named items for great prices sometimes too. However I notice that some of their items are hit and miss. Usually their liquid based items are misses on account of broken bottles and spills upon delivery lol. But I bought a saddle from them and it is my favorite saddle out of three saddles I have!

that's great! :D are you an English or western rider? I did Western for 5 months when I first started riding and have been English ever since (about 8 1/2 years) what saddle did you buy might I ask? I bought my saddle I think 3 years ago it was used I got it in my local tack shop. its a HDR advantage 17.5 wide tree! :D I love it!

youlooksocool haha I rode western as well for the first 3 months. Then I bought an english saddle and have loved english riding ever since. I just recently tried to ride in a western saddle and I feel like I have no contact with my horse. My English saddle is so much less bulky and my horse appreciates the light weight of it more too.

You honestly get what you pay for, I would check out Dover or smartpak they are professional brands and would work a lot better. A lot of the things you received was cheap.

+Hannah Bosworth I try to be a thrify shopper when I can. I didnt have the luxury of parents who paid for any of my items and had always paid for my college and horse 100%. To my surprise a lot of the items I bought have lasted up until now, some others didnt but I wasnt too sad since I hadnt paid much for them. Also chicks usually sells the mane n tail much cheeper than my local tack shop, so I like to take the risk and order from them lol.

+Hannah Bosworth It doesn't matter if it's from Dover or Smartpak with big brands, Mane n Tail are a general brand. You can buy it from any shop and it should be the same just different prices. Same with those hooks, Horze is an amazing brand (Australian brand) and is defiantly cheap and is actually extremely good. Some people actually like being cheap stuff because not everyone has a money tree in their backyard and can buy the expensive stuff that'll last long. Sometimes it's just easier to buy the cheaper not may not last long or sometimes it does.

No offence but maybe there is a reason why your horse keeps breaking the reins so that you can't ride?

+Hannah Jackson He actually broke the reins when I fell off on a trail ride trying to go around a fence. My leg caught the fence and I got scraped off and fell down a small ravine(I was riding my english saddle). The second time was my fault since the people that were helping me told me to tie my reins to the horn when I lunge. I didnt know better so I did and he broke them on a gate. We haven't broken a pair of reins since and have definitely learned from our mistakes.
