It's not about "needing" specialized armor. A general surgeon(chief) has a different tools than a neuro(linda) or orthopedic (fred) surgeons. They all wore the same armor when it was mark IV.

I remember before the other Spartans had unique armor. Pepperidge Farms remembers too. It made more sense that they all had the same armor. The armor was already custom fitted. Humanity was loosing, they didn't have the resources to develop special types of armor for each spartan. It gave the Spartans the image of deamon better. They all looked the same, it helped create the image that a spartan never dies.

It is true that they all looked the same before, however they’ve been pushing that they always had unique armor which grinds my gears. In the newer armor platforms, yes. They should now have armor tuned to them. But you are completely right in your points and they all had the standard Mk IV armor so I get quite annoyed whenever I see/read them all have unique armor in the old days

That mostly applies to the Mk lV, as it had very few advances to it's design that were actually implemented on the battlefield. Halo 3 & Reach confirms the MJOLINR Armor was designed to implement other gear used by the UNSC, as most helmets and chest attachments you can get are just refurbished parts from the UNSC like the Pilot and ODST helmet. The reason why it's always perceived that the Spartan lls all "wore the same armor" is the same reason all Spartan llls wore the same armor, it's cheap and easy but in both cases they selected certain Spartans for important missions, this means they required more gear to ensure their success. You still have your "all Spartans look the same" fantasy, it just applies to the dozens that were sent to the Frontline not the ones selected for special ops.

You know in every way how powerful the 117 is, 100 tons of grip. A half-second sprint of 10 meters and a constant acceleration of movement speed. It's flashing through a particle beam that's 11 mach a meter away. And then you realize that the 117 is just the average Spartan 2.

He's classified as an Assault Specialist but as you said, he does a bit of everything so he doesn't really need a special suit since he can do what he needs to do with what's around him. He is extremely resourceful and tactical.

Kurt was was one of the few counters against John in leadership skill, where his instinct beats John's typical leadership style. John doesn't hate Kurt. Unless you have actual evidence to back this up, you're just making shit up and misinformation. Also, Fred was considered second best at everything, according to John himself in the book of 'Fall of Reach'. But it's hinted that Fred could do better if he wanted to.

Not really. Even with Gen 2 Mjolnir the Spartan 2s are already at the peak of their power with a Gen 1 Mjolnir. I think they explained in glasslands or somewhere else that you can only improve a Human's abilities just up to a point. Spartan 2s are already at the peak of their power, of human power, even with a better armor than Gen 1 Mjolnir the improvement is not significant.

In my opinion chief being a jack of all trades fits so well because if he can't overcome an obstacle with strength he uses strategy and if he can't get in close for a kill he can basically be an expert marksman and so on he's the ultimate definition of "Jack of all trades master of none but is often better than a master of one"

Although it kinda becomes his own varient in GEN2 and GEN3. ONI wanted to keep that Mark VI image. So for GEN2 which he wears on Halo 5, they made sure it looked exactly like Mark VI [MOD] from Halo 4. In Infinite he has Mark VI varient of GEN3.

The best way to describe master chief is that he’s the second best at everything and that’s what makes him so special. Well if people read the books they would know that while the MC was on the first halo ring the other spartan 2s were defending reach and were damaged. During the defense they took refuge down in castle base where they ran into Dr. Halsey who replaced the damaged tissue and armor pieces with the new armor pieces which enhanced their strengths

He forgot to mention how Kelly's armour makes her run much faster but only in one direction which makes her extremely effective at head on assault however it hinders her overall movement so dodging can be a problem but she compensates by throwing her weight around slowing her briefly but she can build the momentum back up and keep going.

During the BUNGIE tenure, all Spartans-II had the same mark V armor. In the books, only Doctor Halsey was able to tell them apart. They used the same Mark V to confuse the enemies. If a Spartan-II died, another one could take their place, making them look invincible, this tradition was inherited by the Spartan-III, hence why they say "Spartans never die, they just get missing in action". BUNGIE made Noble Team a specialized Spartan team but you can see that's not a standar procedure, when Doctor Halsey sees Jeorge she claims "What have you done to my armor?!" George responded " I made some slight modifications" Only the Spartans-II Mark-V and regular Spartan-III EVA used the same armor, Jhon's MJLNIR Mark-VI "IS" a specialized variant custom made to suit him. When 343 took the game, they retcon that lore, and now everyone has a unique armor tailored exclusively for a certain spartan.

Chief is an exceptional soldier, as well as team player. Missing multiple specialized people? He can fill all of them as long as he doesnt have to be in two places at once.
