So glad you're reviewing this book. A good thing to point out is that Prissy, herself, agreed to be INTERVIEWED for this book. It makes for a real interesting read when her comments are justaposed against the comments of the other participants. It's also important to point out that "Child Bride" INTERVIEWED teachers, girlfriends, boyfriends, uniterested parties, dating back to MIDDLE SCHOOL. Prissy was SEXUALLY AGGRESSIVE from a young age and it was CONFIRMED by her boyfriends and well-supported by others. EP even told Joe E. that Prissy was the sexual aggressor. Prissy has always been VAIN and MANIPULATIVE. Prissy learned that Currie Grant knew EP. In exchange for an INTRODUCTION to EP, Prissy agreed to EXCHANGE SEXUAL FAVORS in the German Hills where they met on several ocassions. Prissy is the one that DEVISED THE PLAN to DECEIVE not only her parents but Currie's wife as well. Prissy accused Currie Grant of R***** her NOT once but TWICE. Currie G. became a LIABILITY once she learned that EP wanted a VIRGIN. (It seems that when she doesn't get her own way it's not beneath her to CRY R*** as she intimated in her book re EP.) Prissy ended up suing Currie Grant in a $10M defamation lawsuit, but the judge reduced it down to $75,000, which basically means that her case had no merit, however, Prissy did have"deep pockets" and Currie G. did not and could not fight the case, so she won. Well, that's all she wanted anyway was to shut him up. They did a side bar agreement, which said that if Currie G. did not talk about what happened he would not have to pay the settlement. Prissy gave Currie $15,000 for the pic that he took of her in Germany. Later on in a German magazine and picture surfaced corroborating Currie G.'s story. Interestingly, since the interview between Currie G. and Prissy was TAPED, Finstad took the tapes and sent them to a SCIENTIST for examination. They did some PSE, which was considered MORE RELIABLE than a POLYGRAGPH. The scientist determined that Currie G.' interview was 100% TRUTHFUL while Prissy's interview was 100% UNTRUTHFUL, witht he EXCEPTION of one MINOR question. The interesting thing is that Prissy NEVER sued the AUTHOR or the PUBLISHER. If the book was DEFAMATORY, one would think that she would have. I guess she was hedging her bets that nobody would ever read the book and did not want to bring attention to it. Prissy is a CONNIVING SNAKE!!! Personally, I think EP was SETUP from the very beginning.

Unfortunately, Lisa, "the love of his life" is no longer with us and she was really his last line of defense against Prissy. For me, Riley has been a disappointment. She seems to be on Team Prissy rather Team Elvis. She hasn't said anything, except when she's echoing Prissy's words. All the best!!

I lived those years. I am 80 and know how people were pushed to get married in the 50's. I married at 18 and was fearful I wouldn't have another chance if I waited to long., Those were different times.. The age of consent was 16 in most places and if you were like Jerry Lee Lewis who married his 13 year old cousin, all you need was her parents consent. like the ancient times women were often given in marriage years before they were of age. I am not saying it was right I am saying that was part of the culture. Because Priscilla's parents literally forced Priscilla into his lap, it was assumed that they had given permission to see their daughter, who they groomed to marry rich. Elvis didn't need to groom anybody. I am here to tell you that every girl from 8 to 80 was after Elvis. They chased his car if they saw him in public. It was a phenomenon never seen before. True looking back by today standards it is not acceptable. But it was often done in those days. Elvis was no saint but neither was Priscilla and her money hungry parents. Proof continues to come out of just how greedy and conniving she is. Who sues your own granddaughter for money, she don't deserve. The thing that puzzles me is that she continues to lie and degrade Elvis, not thinking that lying to cover her butt, is actually ruining Elvis Legacy, young people believe her, and that's a crime.

Knowing what I read Pricilla was always jealous of Lisa and Elvis' father daughter relationship. Pricilla could not understand why Elvis made such a fuss over Lisa. Pricilla always wanted Elvis to be the same with her. Pricilla should've been proud of how much love Elvis showed Lisa. And Lisa was always trying to be just like her mom. And knowing what I read Lisa did not want to leave Memphis she always called herself a southern girl at heart. This book and the many testimonies included, just gave me prof of what I was already thinking, especially about her family. I've never believed her version "my parents were worried" and bla bla bla....who allows a 14 year daughter to go to the house of a celebrity till midnight, with school the following day, picked up by different people by car? The story of Currie about him took advantage of her doesn't stand up, but especially the lie that she told it to Elvis and he banned Currie. Currie is in the picture the day they were going to the airport on March 1960, and he is the same man who still took pics to Priscilla the following year to send to Elvis. Priscilla used Currie, her parents used her to obtain fame and richness, Currie used Priscilla to have what he wanted. The only one who asked nothing and found in trap was Elvis 🙄 And in the movie Priscilla they changed the name of Currie with "Terry" 😂😂😂😂😂 It says a lot

Hey David, you should review the book by Anita Wood too. Elvis did the same thing to Anita. Told her in a letter he wanted her to remain pure and she should tell him if she resists to temptation. He did this of course while carrying on with Priscilla, and we now know, so many others over there. So there is a pattern in behavior here from Elvis. The difference between Anita & Priscilla, is Anita was a virgin and wasn't the person to break that if that's what Elvis wanted. After reading Child Bride and with everything else we know of her, I firmly believe Child Bride is closer to truth than Priscilla's version. Theirs too many holes in Priscilla's story.

I don't doubt that Priscilla's version of her relationship with Elvis is a lie. The reason, I say this, isn't because I hate her or don't like her. I say it because of one reason and that is this. She has rehashed the story of her romance with Elvis, over and over again, and each version is different from the other. I don't believe that Priscilla was a virgin, when she met Elvis, and I don't believe she was a virgin when she married Elvis. She has constantly described herself as being someone very mature, beyond her years, when she was only 14 years old. If she is so sophisticated, as well as grownup for her age, that can only mean one thing. She wasn't trying to just be a teenager. She was attempting to be older, and part of being older, is trying to act like an adult. She probably did have sex with Currie Grant, I don't doubt this, and I think she had sex with other guys before she moved to Memphis to be with Elvis. She definitely wasn't a virgin, when she and Elvis wed, because she and Elvis would get intimate when she was staying with him in Memphis at Graceland. She stated that she and Elvis, often did other sexual things, to please each other when they shared a bed together. Other forms of sex are still sex, even if it wasn't sexual intercourse, so this leads me to believe she wasn't as innocent or as pure as she professed to be on her wedding day to Elvis. I think Elvis was pushed into marrying her by Colonel Parker and Priscilla's stepfather. She may have also, been pregnant, which was a reason to have to get married and do right by her. Either way, Elvis really didn't want to be married, but had to for two reasons. The first reason was to protect his career from being tainted by his romance with a teenager girl. Secondly, Elvis made a promise to Priscilla's stepdad, to do right by Priscilla. Elvis truly wasn't the marrying kind. However, he was caught between a rock and a hard place, when he married Priscilla who was 22. If he didn't marry her, his reputation could possibly be tarnished, and he could lose Priscilla for good if he didn't marry her. Anyhow, I do think Elvis may've married her quickly, because it's possible she may've been pregnant. So, there is plenty of speculation, regarding Elvis and Priscilla's romance which was never a fairy tale. I think Priscilla, as a young teenager, did set her sight on getting closer to Elvis. Elvis was never Priscilla's true love or soul mate. I think Priscilla was more in love with Elvis's fame, name, and lifestyle. I don't think she loved Elvis, as much as she claimed she did, and that is because she would go on to abandon Elvis and their marriage after just a few years. The real Priscilla isn't who she claims to be in the book, or in this new movie Priscilla. Priscilla is someone totally different. Someone very motivated by money, control, and basking in the limelight of Elvis's fame. We may never know the real truth behind Elvis and Priscilla's real relationship. Elvis is not here to defend himself and to give his side of the story. I just think Priscilla tries to make Elvis look bad, and like the villain, while she is innocent and a victim. Just my opinion here.

She pushed Priscilla to get involved with Elvis right from the start, as she was a fan of Elvis and saw this as a way of meeting him. As for being "well researched" the authors all know that they can claim that they had done hundreds of interviews, and we the public can never verify that. Even if they did the interviews, we never know if the speaker its telling the truth. Thereafter I read Childbride and since then I vehemently try to defend Elvis Presley on You Tube. Thank you for a really great post as always Dave. Priscilla forgets what she does and doesn’t say. Currie Grant is telling the truth. Elvis did not sleep with Priscilla until his wedding night. The question that needs to be answered is, why was Priscilla so scared when she openly admitted this in the book Elvis And Me that Elvis wanted her to be examined by a doctor to prove if she was indeed a virgin?. She said she was scared. Why would she be scared unless she had something to hide?. She went on to say, she was relieved that Elvis forgot about it. So basically she was let off the hook. Priscilla by her own admission said she had slept with many boys at high school and boyfriends in her teenage years. So she is a confounded liar. Personally I don’t believe a single word that comes out of that woman’s mouth. To be a good liar, you have to have a good memory. And that is something she does not have, a good memory!. Priscilla is GUILTY. And she had many different affairs when married to Elvis. And once divorced. If the story she tells about Elvis not wanting to make love to her after the birth of Lisa Marie is true. I believe the reason being Elvis most probably knew that she would get pregnant again and it would be harder for him to break away from her. His marriage to Priscilla was short lived, because had he truly loved her he would not have continued to have all the other affairs that he did have. Priscilla is doing all this to get her revenge on Elvis for all his dalliances, before, during and after their marriage had ended. It is the ultimate revenge. Like the saying goes” Hell Hath No Fury Than A Woman Scorned.” Vernon said, Elvis was NOT depressed, unhappy, or sad when he divorced Priscilla. He was happy, had moved on in his is life and was planning his future. Plus he was with Ginger Alden. I believe Elvis never ever wanted to marry Priscilla , in fact he didn’t want to marry anyone. Iv been an Elvis fan for 35 years or so and when I was first interested in his story I was curious about all of the pictures of priscilla after she met Elvis and yet she says she didn't know if she would ever see him again. It's almost as if she was already cementing her position for the future to make sure it happened? Also if the meetings with priscilla wasn't so innocent then why did Elvis acknowledge her presence at the airport and at the press conference? She was only 14 ppl would not have understood . Is there a chance she at first lied about her age or Elvis was telling the truth, it wasn't a great romance just getting to know each other?

At that time it wasn't a big romance but just a frequentation, mostly in places full of other people. Otherwise, if it was something sordid, Elvis would have hidden her. Elvis was kind and maybe she was introduced to him as just a fan who wanted to meet him. He sure was curious about her also because she was pretty and reminded Debra Paget for whom he had a crush. Elvis quickly came back home and started again his relationship with Anita Wood. I don't think he was so mad about Priscilla at that time. Maybe she didn't want to lose the opportunity to keep in touch and stalked him to go to Graceland

First of all, this is an old book. Almost 30 years old and not much has come out to corroborate it. I’m puzzled why it’s suddenly being brought up again after all these years. I’ve been an Elvis fan for 51 years and there was a small blip in the Elvis world when it came out but that was about it. A lot of it was rejected because it also made Elvis look bad. If you read the various books by the the Memphis Mafia, their stories line up more with Priscilla’s version of things then with Child Bride’s version. The MM chronicle Elvis’ fascination with her as well as his manipulation and mistreatment of her. I read the book back when it first came out and was creeped out at how it was obsessed with a 14 year old’s virginity. Lamar Fike has said that Elvis told him at the time that she was a virgin. Lamar said, “She told you that?” And Elvis said, “No, but I checked”. The book also creeped me out that it relied on the word of an admitted sexual predator. Both Lamar Fike and Marty Lacker said that Curry Grant was a scumbag. Lamar had said that a woman being a virgin was not that important to Elvis, it was only important that she be loyal to him. He also liked a woman/girl who was inexperienced so he could “raise them up and mold them to what he liked. Priscilla was never on an equal level with him, he always considered her a child, according to Lamar. Lamar always said, Priscilla was married, Elvis wasn’t. Regarding Priscilla, I’m pretty neutral about her. I’m not a fan but I’m not a hater. She will always be a major part of his story over all the other women because she was the mother of his only child.There’s things she’s done and said that I haven’t liked but you can’t deny that she is the major reason that Graceland is what it is today and that Lisa (and now Riley and the twins) even have something to inherit.

I don’t know what to think about Elvis & Pricilla when she was so young. Men back then often had the attitude that “there are girls you have fun with, and girls that you marry”, and I can definitely imagine him only wanting to marry a virgin. Elvis wouldn’t even look her way, she was the one who approached him when they met and they talked normally. After that, him and his colleagues would be hanging around, working, or simply minding their own business when suddenly they would encounter Priscilla or she would be following them. Elvis referred to her as a stalker once, but apparently was never rude or disrespectful towards her. I’m assuming he thought she was just another crazy fan and didn’t pay much attention to it.

So that article debunks your theory of him wanting nothing to do with her, or that she pestered and persued him. Public judgement was fundamental at that time for women Parents were strict and you were checked. A 14 year girl, raised in a moral family had not all the freedom as today. People's opinion on whether or not you were a "good girl" was crucial, so as not to be misjudged and limit your marital opportunities. At the time, virginity was still a value. My mother at 14 just tried to put shorten skirt one day following the fashion of that time, but someone in the town saw her and immediately told my grandmother who got totally mad at her and threw away the skirt 🤣🤣 Unfortunately if you had a bad reputation, a serious man didn't consider you as a future mother of his children.
