When you base your personality, your entire identity and reason for living on hatred of certain other groups of people, don’t be surprised when your children reject your ideology. I’ve seen this happen with other people.

They (the hatemongers) fear education for a reason. They know that once their children get an opportunity to learn more about the outside world, they're more likely to develop a worldview that outright rejects hate and bigotry.

I am a daughter of the klan ( KKK). I’m in my 70s now and my father tried really hard to teach me the way of the klan, including taking me to many rallies. I was not even three years old when I saw the klan hang a black man at Stone Mountain and my life changed forever. People think you can’t make life decisions that young, but you can. My heart goes out to you for the way you were treated and I understand more than most people the aloneness that you deal with when you were sworn to secrecy about events that are so dramatic in your life. I continued to go to rallies with my father for many years and I prayed for a way for things to change. I believe now and have for quite some time, that there is a conversation of peace yet to be had. We must stay the walk until we hear that conversation and then we must perpetuate it.

Wait. What? You witness an innocent human being life taken by evil doers and you woke up every morning with no guilt? You never feared the reaping you are going to sow on earth or when you transition from this position on earth? You never felt a sense of righting that wrong? You never felt the presence of that dead person's spiritual being around you? You haven't experienced earthly reaping for the sin sowing of death? So, you haven't taken inventory of what a person sows, that so shall he/she reap? You never experienced. . . .let me stop. If what you said is true, I feel sorry for your body as it enters into it's last days on earth. I feel sorry for your soul as your body takes on deteriorating, I feel sorry for your mind and how it's going to play tricks on you. I lastly feel sorry, but not sorry that you believe you're just going to vanish at the end of your life span. Hate to tell you, the first face you are going to see as you as death draws upon you--will be the face of that Black man, the first sound--his screaming for mercy, the first smell--the stench of his flesh. . .and lastly, the first touch, as you enter in the next dimension, will be that of your god---the god of hate, evil, fear, secrecy, and lies. NO secrecy holds a good person in bondage---for a good and righteous person takes the stand of truth over false family ties. Your time to enter into tormenting flames where there is not rest for the wicked is soon nearer than you think. May your part in murdering under the vomit of hate, visit you before the end of 2024 that results in your reprobate mind being turned over to the doctors due to uncurbable cancer---may what he suffered be the gift to you that keeps on giving to any child you have, and your child's child down to the 7th generation from you. Unless you find a sincere way to correct your wrong---torment be upon your household. 🪳

I found it very hard to bond with parents who had transphobic and homophobic views (let alone racist views), because innately I felt like their love for me was very conditional. This was something I couldn't put into words until I was old enough to, despite trying to express it before I could. When I would say "you only like me because I'm your kid, if we had no relation you wouldn't like me at all", my parents never understood what I was talking about.

@@Mostly9366 Yeah, the thing about that: their convictions and values are _inherently_ harmful to other people. When your “values” are built off the belief that a certain group of people is worse or gross for something they cannot change, then those aren’t values. They’re prejudices. And telling someone that their prejudice is hurting you or other people is not selfish. What *is* selfish is maintaining those beliefs in spite of the harm you know they’re doing. So in order for OP to “love their parents the way they are”, their parents first have to do the same for them. Relationships are a 2 way street my guy

It's more complicated than that. Most bigots use bigotry to elevate themselves over other people (the people they're bigoted against and the allies and supporters of those people). They typically have a poor sense of self and self-worth, and they try (in vain) to compensate for it by trying to elevate themselves over other people. But without their bigotry, they would feel even worse about themselves and their own life (at least until they actually improve their life and/or how they perceive themselves). There's also often a social aspect, in which bigots enjoy a sense of community and belonging with other bigots. They often risk being rejected by family and friends, if they don't keep presenting bigotry. And there are a relative few who make money off of bigotry. And there's even more to it than that. It's a complex phenomenon, but we typically have an elementary school understanding of it.

What a courageous person to speak their truth, even if it means being "disowned" by their biological family. I purposefully used the term "biological family," because "family" has so much more to do than with sharing genes. For me, "family" is a term that describes those with whom I feel spiritually connected to and with, people who are kindred spirits. Derek, you do have another "family" in this world, although not necessarily blood-related, which I'm sure you will meet along the way. That has been the case for me, and others I've known. This is not an easy life, not an easy world, but to live in truth, is to be alive. What a beautiful person you are!

I admired what was in them to know that something wasn't right, to have the Bravery to recognize it, accept it & pull away from it. Many times at the cost of perhaps everything they know & love. @@lindatohara6438 They've done scientific studies that can show direct correlation to female and male brains patterns. It's an objective fact that some people are destined to feel trapped in the wrong body for life. I feel like every single person who has some issue with this has literally never looked into it. You mine as well be conducting exorcisms on people suffering from schizophrenia at this point. But you just pick and choose what objective reality you want to live in, which is ironic considering that's the exact same thing you're claiming trans folk are doing. You dislike it because you're a bigot. Have the courage to admit that, instead of feigning some kind of concern for "the children". People will respect you more for for just being an honest bigot. Which is saying something. If they wanted to stick out for attention they wouldn't spend thousands of dollars trying to look like a girl, and alienating their family so they can face bigotry. They would just dawn a bright red MAGA cap, start behaving like an edgelord, and put ridiculous bumper stickers on their unnecessarily large truck.

His transgenderism might be just a reaction to his upbringing: he'll wake up in 7-8 years without his package, crying his eyes out once he realizes the deeper truth. Now that is pain: just go no contact with your past and family if they are not "good enough" for ya; no need to cut things off. People really need to study their own psyche. This refusal he has towards his own body: is a natural reaction to what he went through.

He also ends it with: "I also was hoping for a bit more curiosity from them dot dot dot"; this prooves my point that he craves their attention on why he is going transgender; It is a call for attention only: "What happened to you my son, please open up to us and well love you and comfort you". THAT is what he really is craving, not cutting off his balls.

They must be the most miserable people in the world! Hate doesn't make people happy, it is a result of them being miserable. My parents would say "surround yourself with happy, positive people." That can describe any race, gender, ethnicity, etc. It was definitely great advice, and it described most of the people I grew up around, and the people that I got to know in my life.
