That is why never buy or rent a trailer unless you own the land. There is nothing you can do if the owner sells the property. People are being told to use mobile homes as affordable housing, but if they don't own the property, they have no real rights.
@coleengoodell75236 ай бұрын
Yep, and the cost of moving one, even if it can be moved, which most of these look like they can't. Is so sky high that it would cost more to move them than they're worth. Terrible investments, unless you "own" the land. Which nobody in the US really does. You have to pay property taxes and insurance to fix problems to keep the property up to code. If the property taxes go sky high, there goes your land and/or home.

We lived in a nice, clean, quiet trailer court for decades. We got along with our neighbors and helped each other if we saw a need, we raised our sons there and were happy. But around 2010 the properties around us began to be developed and affordable housing soon sprung up seemingly overnight, I told my wife it was time for us to move but she was reluctant because it was cozy and her plants were thriving, not To mention the memories we had there so I emphasized every day that soon our quiet would be interrupted because developers would most likely buy the court and move everyone out-and one day we would be too old to move when that happened. We went house hunting and found a house a few miles from where we lived, moved in back in 2021. My point is that mobile home parks are nice for temporary housing but the ideal situation is to own your own home, there are more responsiblities but no landlord to throw you out.

Meaning, don’t stick your nose up at people and judge them because you think you’re secure. You have no idea what tomorrow will hold for you. If the people I knew lost what they did, then what about you? How many of you can honestly say you made over a million a year and are wealthy? I bet none. It doesn't matter how long you've lived there. It's not yours; it belongs to someone else who can do with it as they please. As long as you are lawfully notified that you must leave, then you must leave. This is why some landlords just do month-to-month leases - so they can tell you to leave (in most states) with only a 30 days' notice. Six months' notice is plenty of notice to find another place to live. In fact, it's very generous. This is not a "What is/is not fair" issue - it's a "It doesn't belong to you" issue.
