This is stunning. Moved me to hears. I found it through Kerry Connelly's book "Wait, is this racist?" (co-written by Bryana Clover and Josh Riddick). We need more big, inclusive songs of solidarity filling our worship spaces. Mark - I'm now following you. Please keep writing.

I reached out to a friend last night as I was struggling with deep lament over what it is to be queer especially in the Church, working towards my MDiv in a denomination that has so clearly said it doesn't want me, feeling like I can't own the fullness of myself with my family/certain groups of people because it will require me defending who I am and I'm just exhausted from trying to do that already. I am just feeling really alone in my queerness right now. At times I feel bold and empowered to take a stand about the fact that there are no Queer theologians represented in my course work, but right now I am just feeling weary and am hurting. My friend responded this morning including the link to this song, and I am feeling so incredibly blessed and wrapped up in the truth that it holds this morning. The names that the world has put on me - abomination, hell-bound, unnatural, broken...- are drowned out this morning by this declaration that I am a Child of God.
