I come back to this soundtrack a lot. It's a genuine crime that this is not getting some sort of sequel or any games made in the same style by Ubisoft. This game is criminally underrated. I hope one day they revisit this masterpiece.

@@mayormaynotbeelster I wouldn't say it is unpopular, it turned a good profit and enjoyed universally excellent reviews and it was beloved by thousands. They ported it to the Switch in 2018, 4 years after its original release, so this says a lot about it being a sure hit on that console. My cousin created and directed the game and he says it is merely because Ubisoft prefers to allocate its time and resources to AAA games because that's where most of the money is (if I remember correctly, Child of Light sold for $15 at the time of its release). I think our only hope is that Ubisoft sells the rights to it to let another game developer create a prequel (which is what Pat wants to do). Fingers crossed, I love this gem of a game and still play it regularly. Everything about it is perfect.

+logitropicity Child of Light stores its sound files in a lossy format, as most games do. This being said, not all of the sound files are compressed equally. Some are compressed with a frequency cutoff at 20-20.5kHz, which is approximately the cutoff for MP3 320kbps, while others have cutoff as bad as 16kHz. I've compressed what I used here to MP3 VBR (V0) if that gives you any indication of the average quality, although youtube compresses audio to AAC at a maximum of 384kbps for stereo. So to answer your question, the bitrate of each track varied, but the average quality of compression was from MP3 128kbps to MP3 320kbps.

this is my favorite game of all time. the storyline is incredible and the soundtrack is beautiful. I love the work put into the backgrounds in the game, because God, they're beautiful. the amount of effort put into this game is just stunning. it's beautiful.

I've never played the game but this music is the best music I've ever heard in my life so I really want to play the game now. I actually mean it when I say this is the best music I've ever heard in my life. when I listen to this heart touching music I hear the emotions put into this work of art. the emotions I feel while listening to this makes me feel the emotions that the composer put in this soundtrack. I'm wondering if the composer was going through something at the moment because I would think it's impossible to put in this much emotion into a song. I respect the composer in every way shape and form. this music actually makes me feel what the game could be. I know this sounds weird but in the soundtrack I'm always thinking of light. a light of hope. the music tells the viewers the adventures and challenges the protagonist went through. the music is unlike any other piece. this is what you call real music. I don't know how the music got me feeling like this, but it did. no music can really tell the adventures the protagonist went through except this very music. I can't explain how much I love this music. the way the emotions are put in. sadness, anger, hope. this music deserves AT LEAST 8 trophies. far more amazing than any other music. ruling all other game soundtracks. you can really tell while listening to this piece how much fun the people playing this music were having and how hopeful and uplifted the composer must have been while composing. I absolutely love this music. better than any other. amazing. outstanding. beautiful. hopeful. this music definitely deserves the name "Child of Light". if you close your eyes while listening to this your brain makes you imagine a light shining. a light of hope. this music puts in feelings unlike any other. best soundtrack of all time. a true light. the story of the life of a young girl. Unbelievably beautiful and touching in so many ways and forms. The music takes you on a journey just like Aurora herself, carrying you with through the wind, all the while tugging at your heart strings. We definitely need more games like this. It stuck with me long after I finished it.

GOD this soundtrack is SO F-ing good. It pulls you in from the very first moments lulls you into a peaceful comfort and then right when you think you've got the soundtrack figured out it injects a surprise at 21:46. Something new and uncomfortable at first but then makes you love it just as much as what came before it. The whole soundtrack comes littered with awesome shit like this. *hits repeat*

This music is so amazing. Every single song is so magical, relaxing. It puts off all your worries away for a while. When you close your eyes you imagine you're in a small, secluded island at night, surrounding by flowers and magic. I can't even put it into words how amazing this music is. I love this game so much and it's honestly an extreme pity how games like Undertale or GTA are more popular than gems like these. But I suppose that's just how the world works.

fun-f****-tastic! Quite liked this game, but what makes it stand out is the soundtrack, and I have just found out that it was composed by Coeur de Pirate. I'm always impressed when it comes to my knowledge that pop singers can be so versatile. The always easy to compose/listen/digest pop is not my cup of tea. I imagine that a much higher effort was made to make this happen. I would never have imagined that Béatrice could do that. I mean, she's so young for such a high quality composition and for being a pop singer... Most pop singers are just crap. Congratulations, lady, and sorry for being prejudicial with pop music (can't help it. Yet, I hope you succeed in whatever you do), but this is just absolutely mesmerizing, a whole new level.
