Minors sexually harming other minors is a deeply sensitive and culturally taboo issue that, when it happens, can leave parents feeling overwhelmed and unsure what to do.
Child-on-child-sexual-abuse (COCSA) is estimated to make up 1/3 of all child sexual abuse cases. COCSA typically involves a power difference between two children, whether it is in age, size, or ability.
It's essential for parents to create a safe space for open dialogue, provide emotional support, and seek professional help for all parties involved.
Focusing on education, empathy, and healing helps families navigate this difficult experience and work toward prevention.
This important video focuses on a mother’s experience in dealing with COCSA, bringing attention to a topic that has largely been ignored by society. Thank you for your courage.
