Hi everyone! I didn't expect to like this movie as much as I did. It is such a fun filled thrill fest with AMAZING practical effects regarding Chucky. Somehow they managed to pull that creepy living doll off and I am amazed. I probably will not be watching the rest of the Chucky movies on the channel, however, I have heard they are good! Thanks so much for watching! Have a great day!! :)

A lot of people don't realize that Chucky, for the most part, is played by an actor. His name is Ed Gale. He's 3'4". For some shots puppetry was used but primarily - - there's a real guy in that doll suit. He has quite a long list of IMDB credits too. Glad you liked it.

Okay so i was lucky enough to see this in theaters, we all definitely knew the doll was alive. We just didnt know it was THAT alive. The whole entire theater was screaming and laughing, this guy sitting in front of us went "Damn that dollbaby cussed yo ass out!!!" One of my fave horror movie going experiences still, all these years later. FUN FACT! It was 6 year old little Alex Vincent's idea for the doll to be as strong as his human body, he told Don Mancini and Tom Holland "The soul has weight from power, thats why i think hes so strong." They finally addressed that on the season finale of the Chucky show on SYFY.
@TheJokersCorner3 жыл бұрын
Child's Play is definitely a classic. Tom Holland directed the shit out of this film, as he does with all of his films. The thing I love the most about this movie is the setup to the Chucky mythos where the longer Chucky's soul is in the body of the doll the doll slowly starts becoming more human which is why the doll starts forming bad human translucent skin, a receding hairline and so on. They literally got to play with the design of Chucky throughout the entire film and evolve his look the further the storyline goes. The use of the animatronic, miniatures and enlarged sets for camera trickery and force perspective & not to mention the little person in the Chucky costume to show other perspectives of the doll are all tremendous! The sequels are a lot of fun and Chucky just gets more and more creative with his kills. And yes you'll learn more about Chucky's backstory. Enjoy the franchise! 😁👍

I'd rather give more credit to Tom the director who ended up honing in on the good qualities of a bad script, and helping do so much to liven up the film. Without Tom Holland it wouldn't have worked. Chucky was actually created by Don Mancini and Tom Holland. Brad Dourif played the possessing serial killer Charles Lee Ray and the voice of the doll post-possession. Then child actor Edan Gross was the "Good Guy" voice for the doll. Little person actor Ed Gale provided the movements for the doll.John Franklin(Isaac Chroner from the original and 6th "Children of the Corn" and "Cousin It" from the `90s "Addams Family" Films)also provided some stuntwork for the doll as well.

Actually Don Mancini said that talky Tina, Cabbage patch and my buddy marketing of the 80s as well as trio of terror Zuni doll inspired chucky. I'm sure dolls was also inspired by talky Tina since she was the first killer doll that predates all of them but chucky is original in that prior to that we never had talking, walking, running around dolls that actually speak and makes conscious decisions on his own.
@MLJ79563 жыл бұрын
@@MKF30 - Tom Holland (director of Child's Play 1) said in an interview (sometime later on) that he first rejected the script to be director for the movie. He said he actually threw it in the trashcan because he thought it was a ridiculous concept...but later on that night he ended up watched the classic Twilights Zone episode 'Talking Tina', then the anthology made-for-TV movie 'Trilogy Of Terror' (which features a killer tribal voodoo doll) and then the movie Dolls (1986) which all came on afterwards on some cable station at the hotel he was staying at. Those three programs are what inspired him to re-read the script and take the job of director for Child's Play 1.. So it was 'My Buddy', 'Cabbage Patch Kids' (even Garbage Pail Kids which were humorous parodies of the Cabbage Patch Kids), 'Talking Tina' 'Trilogy Of Terror' & 'Dolls' were all inspirations for both Chucky and the first Child's Play movie. Also Tom Holland worked with Chris Sarandon in the film 'Fright Night' (which he also directed) and thought he would be great in this film, so he hired him for 'Child's Play' without a screen test.
@MKF303 жыл бұрын
@@MLJ7956 Yeah thats what I had said Don admittednin interviews for his inspiration for the look of the doll. The plot came from Tom Holland and yeah I know he worked with Chris in fright night prior to childs play. tom had a big influence on Don who originally wanted to do a story called "blood buddy" where the doll blues synthetic blood when mixed with Andy's the doll would come alive based off of Andy's dark subconscious and darker thoughts but that idea was scrapped when Tom convinced him not to do that and that it would sell. So he went with thr voodoo idea high was more of Tom's ideas. Fun fact besides that though Don wanted to also name it "batteries not included" but was already taken by steven Spielberg prior. So they came up with Child's Play. But yeah as far as inspiration Don said himself he was also very inspired by twilight zone, 80s marketing with the darker element to bring kids into it etc. His dad worked in the business of marketing so thats where he got that angle from as far as the play pals marketing element. The doll was everything I mentioned prior as far as the look for chucky or the good guy doll.

"lady gets mini zuni warrior doll with spear and knife accessories" as a gift...and holy cow! You can guess what happens but I linked it..its 20 min. From the next day at school to weeks later we were still talking about how it scared the poop out of all of us kids. (we were 9 years old so we only said poop).
