You can go get joint custody. No a court will probably not take a young child from its mother, so the father can avoid paying for the child even though you’re still pay for the child if they are in your custody.

It has no factual basis. A man making $1M per year will pay $200,000, and a man making $50k will pay $10k. The NEEDS of both children are the same; food, clothing, and shelter. The USDA produces an annual “child expenditure report” that details care for the average child in America. We’re at $13-$14k per year. For someone to pay more than that is unfair.

The gov't looks at the lifestyle of a child and therefore how much it would cost to raise a child in that lifestyle, based on the incomes of both parents they come up with a number and then that number is split based on that final number, it starts at 50/50, if one parent makes more than the other then that ratio can range from 50/50 to 60/40, 70/30 etc.
