My dad's from Honduras and my mom's from Korea we had a very hard time adapting to the US, people would stop me on the street to ask me why I was tan and Asian my mom could barely speak English so I had to translate everything, and my dad had to work like three jobs at a time just to be able to feed me and my sisters saranghae omma♡゙ te quiero papi♡゙

+KookieTime just because you did, doesn't mean she did. plus ethnicity don't matter, I can speak Spanish when I'm not even Spanish myself. I speak 3 languages. she also said she's Mexican, maybe she can't speak Spanish either, but it doesnt mean she isn't Mexican or English just because she didn't use the language correctly. I speak Tagalog but doesn't mean I use the characters to write because you do not have to for someone to undestand.

+ceecee Bruh , listen . Even if you're partly Korean , You should at least know how to say I love you , And Korean has a really easy alphabet , its not the same as tje complicated chinese writing system . And yeah i speak English but Im full venezuelan , and Im pretty fluent in korean myself so , Ethnicity has nothing to do with race . She herself said "My mom couldnt speak english so i had to translate for her" , That means she should be AT LEAST conversational in korean. See my point?

White people, no one is saying your parents don't make sacrifices for you but it's not the same. When you're an immigrant you come here with nothing. You have to learn a new language, and still get mad fun of when you don't speak it perfectly. You have to start from the bottom. You work hard while you live your days knowing there are people who don't want you here. This is something white/European immigrants cannot relate to. My parents are now citizens but because of the color of our skin there are still places we won't get hired at. I was born here and I still get told to leave this country all the time. As a white person, you will never know what that feels like. The sacrifices are just not the same.

I'm not Latino but I really can still relate to them all as my parents are also immigrants. It's amazing what they went through for our generation, especially compared to how easy they've made life for us... We literally owe them our lives and we owe it to them to make them proud of our generation after they sacrificed so much to give us this amazing opportunity. This is why I will always love my parents unconditionally :)

My whole family immigrated from Mexico in 2000. I was around five years old around that time. I'll never forget my Dad working 6 days a week from 5am to 11pm. We use to stay up waiting for him so we can see him. I feel like I'll only be able to repay them if I succeed in the life they have given me. I want to give them my whole world. My dad was an immigrant to the Middle East, in his early days there he used to work as a laborer in construction. He told me he once fell from a height on the ground and a nail passed right across through his foot and he couldn't sleep the entire night, kept crying, not because of the pain he was going through.. Because the pain of being away from home, away from family.. Being completely on his own, with no one to comfort him was way unbearable. 😢

I remember one year (I think I was going into 5th grade) and it was the day before the first day of school and I stayed up all night crying cause I couldn't have the cool book bags everyone else had. Instead I got my moms old book bag because we just didn't have money. I was crying and crying and the next day for school I had a brand new sparkly bookbag and now that I'm older I wonder what my parents had to give up just go get me that bookbag. I feel guilty about to this day and I wish i could've understood the concept of sacrifice

My dad left my family when I was about two to give us a better life, and when I turned six years old, my mom took my younger sister with her to the US to meet up with him. I was left in Central America "suffering" while my parents worked their butt off to give me the education/life style I had there (although they didn't know what was actually happening) even now, they still work their butt off so I get a good education. I always blamed them for leaving me alone, but I know that everything they've done is for our family, to give me and my siblings a life that they themselves could never have. As much as a pain that they are, they are also the ones who have given me the chance to be someone in life.

Eating food on the floor of our apartment as a family and just laughing and smiling at our stories when we came back from school, even though you would have such a hard time at work. Leaving your home to live in a country where you couldn't speak the language. Enduring high prejudice because you had an heavy accent or were a different color of skin. Being a stay at home mom because you couldn't find a job even though you were a university professor in Mexico. Leaving behind your family even though your mom was super sick and you just wanted to stay and take care off your mom. Missing your moms funeral - missing your family especially when you wanted to mourn with them. Working such long hours and working late nights. Quiting your schooling to find a new job to take care of your son when he was sick. Gracias. Gracias gracias gracias por todo lo que haces para nosotros. Thank you.

I'm so thankful for my parents. They've done so much for me and my sisters as well as their grandchildren. They work so hard to give us anything they can. My mom is still working and my dad recently retired. I remember when I was in third grade and had trouble with math in school; my mom gave up her job to come to school during the day to help me. I will be forever thankful to her for that. She always made sure we had food, warm beds to sleep in, and clothes on our backs. My dad still works so hard to make a good home. He's constantly working on the house and when ever I need him to fix something for me, he's always right there. We go on camping trips together every year, it's our thing. I love doing it because I will forever cherish those memories. Thank you, mom and dad for sacrificing everything for us; for always making sure we had what we needed. You mean the world to me and I don't know what I'd do without you. I love you both with all my heart and soul.

I see a lot of ignorant comments on here, so I'll clear some things up. No, this does not take away from non-Latino white people. No, this isn't all necessarily specific to Latinos. Latinos are a multiracial people. Some Indigenous, other European, others African and many who are mixed between these. Yes, white, non-latino, people struggle too. All foreigners are treated differently. European foreigners who do not speak well English do get made fun of and told to go back to their country.

Hi, what you are saying is technically correct...all parents do sacrifice one way or another to help provide a better life for their children. But I would like to add that these videos are made so people of that certain race can identify and relate with each other. There are specific identifiable issues that immigrants with children face, that are far more different and much more difficult than parents that were raised in their own country face. Immigrants face discrimination, language barriers, and have to work harder simply just to survive. So, race really does matter in the quality of life and privileges one gets.

I mean its so easy to smuggle guns/drugs/gang members into this country. Maybe he will actually reform the immigration system to make it easier to get into this country legally. Hes not the bad guy he just recognizes that america has an immigration problem and he wants to fix it.

My parents lived in Kosovo in 1999 during the War and genocide, my mom barely escaped dying one night as the soldiers came and killed her father and took her mom and sister then burnt their house down. She never saw them again and walked for a few hours through a war zone along with other refugees to her boyfriend’s (my dad) house who was the only person she knew she could go to. She lived with his family until one day my dad saw an application in the newspaper to move to America, he filled it out, then they forgot about it and a few weeks later by chance won the prize and got a package with plane tickets and a few hundred US dollars to move here. So at 19 and 21 they moved to the New York area by themselves not knowing any English, my dad a construction worker and my mom a waitress. They left virtually everything they knew behind to come here and start a family. They still have never gone back and my dad has only kept in contact with his mom over phone, he couldn’t go to his dads funeral a few years ago sadly due to financial reasons. Honestly I don’t know how to repay and thank them, I really related to some of the people in this video. So I think u can understand why it’d make my blood boil to read comments like urs. Who really has the audacity here?🤔

I'm very lucky to have the parents I have. They've been through so many of the struggles mention and millions more. I remember when I first asked my mom about how her and my grandparents came to america, she looked at me and cried. After telling the stories of her troubles, I cried too. I may not have as much as the next person, but as long as I have my family that's all I'll ever need. They've both already given up so much for me, I just wish I could repay them and give them so much more. Here's a story my dad tells me about all the time: When he was young, he never got to travel anywhere with his parents because they only had enough money to get by. He would travel with the basketball team when they had away games (my mom the same with volleyball). The farthest he traveled was Arizona and the team got to see the grand canyon, which to him is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Ever since that day, he told himself that he was going to work his hardest so that his kids wouldn't have to struggle and he could take them to all the places his parents couldn't take him. He kept that promise even though he would have to work harder. What are some of your stories?

white kids say "my parents sacrificed their job to come to this play!" Or whatever. My parents usually never come to things like that. They usually come to promotions or graduations. Immigrants sacrifice so much. My parents are immigrants and they came from Mexico with nothing probably just a backpack of necessities. They lived with my aunt for like a year. Now we have a nice house. They use to not have a car and had to take the bus, even in the rain. Now we have two cars. Thank you mami and papi for all the sacrifices you made for my sisters and I.

JumpStar25 As far as I see there are little to no negative comments on this video. But I cannot say the same for the video about black people. There is a certain colorism going on. People of different races who are all colored too (Asian, Latino) tend to get treated better. I hate when other minorities act like they get treated just as bad as black people. Not saying that they don't have their own problems, mind you. But it's frustrating it's like, "no, you don't know what it's like to be black just because you are a minority. We do not get treated the same way." I also noticed that when black people talk about their problems everyone is telling them to get over it. But when it is Latinos, Asians, Feminists, Gays, etc. I see more people being supportive rather than hateful.

So let me get this straight...some of you really just came here to talk about how the other video got so much bashing....so..you want this video of another minority to get bashed as well? --_-- anyways, I'm a latina and I couldn't relate to them that much because their stories are coming from Latinos who were born in the U.S. I was born and raised outside of it so the way I saw the struggles is different. Something that keeps popping up in the videos is that some of them didn't understand the struggle as children which is something that you don't commonly see in children born in 3rd world countries. When you're a child, you definitely notice all that's happening and you have to grow up a quicker. It's a different experience.

As a Muslim that me proud to see people comforting her and relating to her. I was so happy that the comments didn't have any racist comments against Latinos and Asains...but the black vid got sooooo much hate and that just makes me angry. Why? I don't get why people feel the need to say their ignorant comments on here when they know they can hurt people. It's sickening. People are getting shot at for the color of their skin. The hate inside you and your close minded self is the same. One just expresses their hate better. You sit behind a screen. (You is not to the one reading, but to the racist pieces of crap)
