You are right, the parents sometimes do have conditions to raise the children, but they choose not to. This is not all that uncommon in Brazil. I see, quite often, people with good conditions just discarding their children, giving them to someone they know or leaving them with their grandparents. This is below animalistic, of course, but people here don't have this sense. I know more than one person that would go to this little city in Minas Gerais and adopt a kid. People in this little city have a lot of children, sometimes even 10 per family and so they just give them away for anyone that wants it (easy prey for pedophiles as well). This couple I knew actually adopted a girl that was 5 years old and raised her until she was 15. Then she started causing trouble to them and one they put her in the car, drive to this city and cold bloodedly "return" her to her dad - no remorse, no regret. The guy who had adopted the girl told me this like it was nothing. Believe it or not, we deal with people like this daily here in Brazil. This people work, they date, they eat in fancy restaurants, they even make money, but they have no soul. They're a just an imitation of what a human being is. Brazil got to this point. I've traveled around the world, I've been to poorer countries than Brazil and Brazil is the sickest country I know. I beg you, if you're reading this commentary, please pray for us.

When I lived in Brazil, my friends and I fed kids like this regularly, but it becomes so overwhelming. There is no government assistance, medical, food stamps, etc. I once bought a sandwich for a kid in Rio and he told me to hold it for him an wait for a minute and he would be back in a moment. He ran away and returned with his brothers and sisters and mother and shared the sandwich in front of me and asked me to be their father. This is really sad, but I must say that these ppl are guilty for their own misery. I've been living in Brazil, Sao Paulo, for 8 years now, and i can see a lot of lazy ppl not wanting to do hard work to earn a living. This culture worships sex and rejects decency. Every time I come across these investigative videos on sex tourism, it is the same underling factors - evil parents using the excuse of poverty. Since poverty is always the underling factor, how about small scale farming to feed themselves? Cottage industries to export the artisan jewelry and other locally made craft work ( online and internationsl niche markets). Also, a drive to educate the poor on safe sex to reduce unwanted pregnancies. Honestly, it is the minds of the people which need elevation. The live of money has led them to do heinous acts to their children. An 8 month old child!!! Really? That child's body is damaged 😢. I been doing research on sex tourism for years and there was a case of a 1 month old damaged close to death !!! The parents are worse than the paedophiles in my opinion. Stricter penalties for these evil parents. There is no excuse for their actions. In this video, one woman has not worked in 10 years!!! Couldn't she leave her town and seek employment elsewhere? Local government must help these children and churches must reach the people. The people need God's word to uplift their minds. As well as the Church can and should help financially. The Church worldwide is too passive. Active outreach programs are needed to save lives.

I' m Brazilian, this is a serious problem here. In my opinion, only sterelization+ education would help out. Those parents don't care if they have enough money to raise a child, they just wanna have sex anyway. Here in Brazil, anyone has free acess to condoms in public health system, but they prefer not to use, so guess what, they have many kids as possible. Do not blame porverty for this ! Goverment gives some support with money for each child if they go to school, but some families think is better to sell their own children, that way they make more money. Most of those parents do not work or look for a job, they use their kids. You see, those mothers do not prostitute themselves. It's disgusting. 😥

The same thing goes on in America. I bet at the root of it is the same thing that is at the root of it in America. Drugs. The difference between this and the American version is that in the American version people seek out the wealthy as customers. In Brazil there are less pockets of concentrated wealth. In America there are thousands of wealthy cities even though only a few popular ones comes to mind to those who aren't well knowledgeable.

Brazil has very complex problems which started centuries ago.. The size of the problem just snowballed and it is very difficult to revert the situation bc there are huge corruption and poor education.Public problems are endless. When some states have some good infra structure and public service, others lack the most of it. And the reason is just one: corruption.Forced or unforced prostitution is only a consequence of the basic problems which exist in this country.Corruption, drugs, lack of education leading to huge poverty are the basic causes of such tragedy.Poor people get free handouts by gov, but to be illegible they need to have at least four children, so one reason as why they have many kids. The handouts are not enough to feed them, so without education, they barely find jobs and live with the min given by gov.. Not a surprise to have a huge child sex abuse in this country!
