My father, a prominent Canadian Doctor, sold my sister and I into the sex trade when I was only 4 and my sister was 5. This was back in the 1950´s and this is a disgusting and revolting reality that no one wants to talk about, especially men who have been violated. What this does is rob the child of their entire adult life. We were not the only children that were violated during this time, We witnessed more than 200 other children that were violated during our time of abuse. The biggest problem that I have encountered during my life is to find a therapist who is willing to work with a man who was abused. They all told me that if I was a woman they would know how to help me, but because I was a man they had no idea what to do. There is not enough hatred in the world to tell of the hatred that I have for men and women who involve themselves in promoting this horrible crime, and yet I have forgiveness inside me and I cannot understand how I can be like this. Now at the age of 63, I have no idea who I am.

I was sold as a child by my mother to support her heroin addiction, to a married man who lived around the corner from us,i use to come home from school or from just being out and about, and see them exchanging words and money, I knew what I was seeing though I was very young it hurt too bad to admit to myself what it meant, I was just turning 14, finally after one time seeing the money exchange as I peeked around the corner out of sight, I came in and confronted my mother and she looked at me like she had the devil himself in her, and snickered at me and said well don't you like the money that you get and the clothes he buys you for school, I was so stunned by the look in her eyes and cold response that came from her mouth, the pain and realization was so heavy upon my heart I couldn't even respond I just turned and walked away trying not to hate my mother, I never even told a soul because I was so ashamed, and i didn't think anyone would believe me, let alone care,it brings me to tear's now even sharing this today, I have since forgiven my mother,as the Lord God Almighty has forgiven me, praise be to the lamb of the living god who is blessed for ever and ever.Alleluia!!!!!!Amen.

Everyone seems to be really shocked that this is happening in Nebraska, but it's EVERYWHERE. It's happening in your county, your city, your neighborhood. Look up some of the statistics. Also, you should look up some of the signs to look for because you'd be very surprised at how easy it is for traffickers to operate right under our noses because most people don't want to put their noses into other people's business.

Now you can sleep with a clean conscience knowing you did everything in your power to protect your grandchildren and all the other kids he might've hurt. Because it's a serial thing and they hurt LOTS of kids :( Also: None of it was your fault. He might've been that way even if he wasn't abused as a child--there's no way of knowing. But it probably contributed. You're a hero for not only adopting a kid but knowing when to do the (really) hard stuff.

She witnessed first hand that some of the worst offenders were from the highest up in the very system that was supposed to rescue and help these people. They use working around them to pull them back out because it's easier because the victims minds are already trained to do as they're told. One female called my friend crying because one of the heads from the rescue called her to her room and asked her to come over for a rub down and wine.

It's not the drugs that causes the addiction. It's the hatred of one's life. You'll notice they always talk about targeting broken women and children. That makes them easier to manipulate and abuse and then the drugs help them mentally escape from the horrors of their life. Now they are more compliant and more "willing" to cooperate in order to get more drugs in order to make their horrific existence tolerable. This whole topic makes me want to burn these piece of shit traffickers alive.

I think a large contribution to the problem here is corruption in the legal system as well. We have a woman near Taos New Mexico who sold her own daughter to her boyfriend as a child. It was discovered back in the 80's in Florida and he only received a 4 year sentence and she was awarded a 3 year sentence on probation while retaining custody of her children. The boyfriend, who had an established parental position in the home, when released from prison immediately returned to the home. The abuse of this child continued until the woman was 37. These people moved to an off grid community near Taos New Mexico in the late 90's and even though the man was required to register never did. Once he was discovered the sheriff's office still did not require him to register. The man and his girlfriend had accused 5 other men of the same crime he had been convicted of and claimed that he had been redeemed. Even though all 5 of these men were cleared by statements by the supposed victims they continued to be harassed by these people. Some justice was finally delivered in May of 2015 when the man was killed by his child victim. It was ruled an accidental death since he was found with a truck on top of him. The woman is emotionally traumatized by the decades of abuse yet now here in 2018 it is suspected that her mother is trafficking her 12 year old daughter. The authorities have been made aware of this yet show no interest in the matter since they are in an off grid community filled with addicts and violent people. So you see, the problem isn't just the pimps and john's the authorities in most areas of our country contributes to the problem.

Sergeant Miller is what we wish they all were. I’ve just heard too many stories of some of the vice cops actually trading leniency and looking the other way in exchange for a turn with a girl. If they ever catch a cop, they should get triple sentencing for using a trusted position that not only impacts the girl he’s with but every girl that’s traffic through his jurisdiction.

Born and raised in Omaha Nebraska, the biggest part was truckers bringing runaway girls in. The interstates were and still are the place to find them. Thankfully many have been saved and caught but unfortunately it will never end. There will always be perves out there and judges letting them off with a slap on the wrist.

Healthy people have missed this happening right under their noses for many decades because they can not even imagine doing this to children. FYI, it is time to toughen up, buttercups, and face reality. We let this happen because we were too squeamish to consider the reality. It is time to acknowledge it and demand an end to it. Law enforcement must be forced to fight this, johns and pimps exposed and harshly penalized, and places established for victims to heal.

Please be aware of the groups of young people who travel from city to city under the guise of selling magazines or cleaning products for example..Sadly I had a large group of young men and women who were checked into a large hotel where I worked the front desk by a group of men who were in control of this group. The kids were so scared when they were around these men and were not allowed to speak to the hotel employees. Two of the girls came to me later during my shift and asked for help, asked me to call their parents and I did. They were rescued by their families but many of the others where simply runaways who had no one to care or worry about them. They were reported to the FBI but made an escape the next day and were gone.

There is really no sense in needlessly terrifying your children. Sex trafficking, for the most part, is now used to define what we once called Teen Prostitution. Did you parents sit you down and lecture you about teen prostitution at different stages of your life? A lot of shows use the rarest cases as examples to terrify the masses. The overwhelming majority of teens that end up in prostitution have horrible home lives, are abused as children, thrown into the system, are often in and out of group and foster homes (often ending up with people who are just out for a check) and they run away/live on the streets. Pimps are no where near as involved as they used to be. Any social worker that works with teen prostitutes will tell you few have pimps now. They will tell you their teen clients have murdered people who tried to step in and become their pimps. Teen prostitutes are known for having an incredible amount of agency and most use the internet to set up appointments now. It’s more common to find 18-21 year old former teen prostitutes renting a house or apartment that several live in, and they share contacts. Many have not changed their view of prostitution with the times. Most teen prostitutes in the U.S are 16-17 years old. You will find outliers who are younger but the majority are a year or 2 away from 18 and fleeing from the system, trying to make it on their own until no one cares where they are anyway. There are 100-105 stranger abductions in the U.S each year. This number is made up of all ages and is out of a population of 320 million, 78 million 18 and under. The majority are teens who live and work on the streets as prostitutes. They often don’t have any family that cares so that makes them an easy target. Infants - toddlers make up 9-12 of that 100 a year and they are taken by women desperate for children. The type of abductions parents fear the most are so rare that your child has a better chance of being struck by lightning in their own bathtub. Instances of upper/middle class teens being lured into prostitution are incredibly rare and generally involve addiction. Most young kids are sold by their own parents for drug money

More information needs to be out there for people to know how to recognize people in the sex trafficking industry. I am sure it is prevalent in all 50 states. Just as we work to shut down the drug industry, we should work just as hard to take this out the sex trafficking industry. Laws should be strengthened to apply stiffer penalties and do more to help the women who are victims.

What bugs me is how when this topic is generally brought up anywhere, there is so little emphasis on how bad it is to be this kind of customer. We often expect it to be a given, however it's so easy to dismiss if there are no direct reminders. The low fines are proof. If people get medical "fines" of hundred thousand dollars when they fall ill to cancer and their insurance isn't covering it... then it's not so far fetched to impose large fines on these type of solicitation customers.

Treating a human being as a "thing" to be used for one's base desires is truly stomach-turning. It is equal parts heart-breaking & infuriating in its unadulterated level of evil ! However... I truly thank God that there are people like these scholars, law enforcement officers, shelter workers & others who care enough about the (absolutely) innocent victims to fight for meaningful change ! The lady who described her experiences is truly courageous, and deserves commendation for adding real life insight to this horrific crime. I know that it can sometimes feel like we are in the center of a tsunami of evil when we view the scale of human trafficking. But if each of us becomes informed about the signs of trafficking & takes whatever steps are within our abilities (such as offering comfort instead of judgment to the victims & reporting suspicious situations to authorities), then we can at least contribute to the fight against this blight on our nation/world. Plus, let's keep the innocent ones in our prayers. It does make a difference ! My thanks & admiration go out to everyone who is fighting to save the survivors of this evil crime. You are the unsung heroes/heroines of this world. May God truly bless you for your kindness ! 😊 Shalom🌟 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 "He is risen indeed ! 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴

It’s crazy to think how easily I could have been put into this when I was a teen. I already had my best friends guardian trying to touch me and her. Then on top of it there would always be older men trying to lure me into their cars when I was a young teen. My dad was a single father I didn’t have a mom growing up so I could just leave my house whenever I wanted to and have been put into some pretty serious situations because of this. I remember getting attacked after getting off the train and fighting for my life having bruises all over my head and my dad at the time just wanted to take me to the police, not even give me a damn hug and I was so angry at the time that I blamed it on him because he never wanted to help me with anything or care about me. This stuff happens all the time and it’s almost like these people have a sixth sense for children that are easily vulnerable. Care for your kids, even if they’re getting on your last nerve, remember they’re still minors and still need your love and attention probably more than ever when they’re adolescents/young teens. Now that I’m a mother myself, I just want to help my daughter be as safe as possible. When she becomes a teen all I will want to do is try to keep her safe and love her. My teen years were hell and I don’t ever want that to happen to her

WOW! I had no idea that Sex Trafficking was this big of a problem in Nebraska! I live in Washington State, right across the river from Oregon State and very close to Portland, OR. Sex Trafficking is a big problem here as well, I volunteer at a shelter that assists young girls. Many of the victims we see, especially in the last year or so have been from foreign countries. It is so heartbreaking, what is even worse is people have NO IDEA this is happening. These young girls (and sometimes young boys) are scared, they are broken.. Thank you for showing this, it was very eye opening. I also have family & close friends in Nebraska - Omaha in fact. They have never said anything about this, they all know I volunteer. I wonder IF THEY EVEN KNOW.. With Backpage now shut down - I wonder if this has deterred the trafficking any? In the beginning the FBI agent also said that backpage handed over photos to them - at the time I was thinking again I wonder when back page was shut down how this has also affected their investigations. I just came across your channel, but it would be interesting to see a follow up on this now that the website has been shut down, I know Back page had a lot of bad stuff happening - It also seemed like police/investigators were using it to assist in their investigations.
