Wow that ESP has a gorgeous tone. It sounds so much better than my Yamaha I currently have. But my old BC Rich sounded great but sold it and have regretted it ever since 🥺 before I saw the video I was wondering if you were going to use a pick or your fingers. Sounds great with a pick. Wouldn't love to hear/see you play some Metallica or even better Megadeth. Iron maiden also, you are a skilled bass player and far better than me. It's good to see someone giving bass some limelight. Awesome stuff, brother! I think you nailed it! Give me time, and I'll do a guitar playthrough when I get the rust knocked off. It's been 15 years since I last played, so I'm starting to relearn the muscle memory, get my fingers caloused back up and getting myself prepared to enter the arena. Starting off simple for now. Lots of Deftones playthroughs to get reacclimated to the instrument, but I want to do something similar. I'd rather do drums... however, I don't have the real estate in the house, and with the kids and girlfriend I can only do this at night so that would be out of the question. Anyway, awesome stuff! Keep doing them, I'll keep watching. I love seeing people do this kind of thing and showing their talents. I never had the platform to do this, but KZbin changed the game! Kick ass job! :)

Something abnormal, actually. I think the original version was done with a 4 string in CGCF, but I just love the way my 5 plays so I tuned it to CGCFA, but the A was completely unnused.

I actually prefer to play without a pick as well, but when I cover songs like this I try to play it how it was recorded for the tone, and this song had some parts that almost require a pick to pull them off. I just run my bass into an interface in my computer and get all my sounds from BIAS FX.

@@TankTheTech That's cool! :) I use a modelling preamp that also works as an interface at the same time to play along to music from the computer and also to record. Right on about trying to get as close as possible to the original tone! Personally I don't do that all that much. I tend to put at least a little of my personal spin on it. Also the cool thing is you can get plenty of attack out of fingerstyle just by adapting it a little :) my fingerstyle sounds almost like my slap :)
