Hey everyone ! I was shocked by the news of Alexi's passing today. Children of Bodom has been a massive influence for me growing up. I listened to the band a lot and I got inspired so much. During a period of my life I was listening to them everyday, looking at their live performances, checking their drummer and watching Alexi playing. I practiced some of their songs a lot during my teenage years and this song was a big part of it.
Please note that I did not use this particular song to make a bad joke about what happened. I only used this one because it's still one of my favorite and probably the one I played the most while growing up. This is serious and I don't mean any disrespect to anybody.
Thank you for everything Alexi, you will be missed.

I'm sad also. Im a finnish, seen theirs many time on "stage" on may festifals, but not my fav. music then... When ALEXI past away, i get insta wake-up... WTF....after that i listen COB hundrends of hours and ordered COB T-Shirts, ordered COB:s CD:s... But still...i remember a day when ALEXI past away, it was informed on nationally on Finnish TV. ALEXI LAIHO is died. :(

When I learned Alexi passed away, I sat down for a good moment, contemplating what just happened. The youth hero of so many, including myself, was gone at 41. He was an absolute animal of a composer, and his legacy will live on for the time remaining. The Alexi-600 I bought 15 years ago is still here in all its glory. I make sure to cherish it. And dude, you sweat passion and talent. That feeling you get, when you nail the song at the end ; that feeling I know it. Thank you so much for your dedication man, and your hardwork !

I didn't realize how influential he was to the whole Metal scene until he was gone. He inspired so many people. I remember crying hearing Follow the reaper for the first time. It was insane. I'm glad I got to see them twice live. Been jamming their songs since my early teenage years. Thanks a lot for sharing your story here and your love for Alexi ! And thanks a lot for your kind words

Yes it's hard to believe. He was so young and he was a huge inspiration for so many people. I was a big CoB fan when I was younger and they played a huge role on my drumming now. It felt weird when I heard the news...
