The graveyard upheaval in Children still remains the greatest dead bodies coming out of the ground scene in any horror movie! My husband saw it when he was little and still loves that movie to this day!💀

I'm glad you pointed this out. That piece is almost as if the earth/graves are giving birth, or squeezing out, the zombies. It's things like this that make me appreciate the movie so much. It's a birthing scene. Anya may not have had many lines, but "Something is going to happen tonight. I can feel it." Is the best line in the movie. (I hope I remembered that correctly)

I just want to say that this movie had the best grave yard sound effects of all times there's nothing can top that grave yard sound and scene.

It's because the Zombies spared her. ❤ She defended the dead and demanded dignity for them. I knew she made it. 😂

More than any other film I saw on late night TV as a kid, this one stayed in my memory more than all others. There is just something about it that made it uniquely unforgettable.

I remember seeing this movie in the '70s. Despite the humor, it ultimately scared the hell out of me. It really had a sense of dread that lead you to the climax. So good seeing these people after so many years!

@Konga 5000 - Yes! Part of what made it so disturbing was it started out kind of light (though mysterious) so you thought it would be tongue in cheek. But it got dead serious at the end and the horror of seeing all your "friends" killed was a serious shock!

This was a staple of the local tv “Creature Feature Theater” shows on Saturday nights. It was perfect for tv. While it had minimal blood, nothing that you could call gore, it had great make up and such a creepy atmosphere that it made everything effective for the viewer. I have the DVD and I always come back to this one for the memories and fun. BTW: Shame on Alan for what he did to Anya. Even the zombies were shocked. ;)

Any chance you are from Michigan? As very young kid it came on in the summer. It was the afternoon strangely and i believe it was some type of chiller thriller shown in summer time afternoon's on weekends that showed scary movies.

I saw this movie at the Drive in when I was about 11 or 12 years old, around 1974. Dad didn't enjoy Horror Movies, so My mom took me and my sister. It was the scariest movie I had ever seen. Became a fan of Zombies. Although this movie was almost too scary. It was really creepy. Looking back it seems more campy, but for the day it was actually really hip and really really scary.

It's a shame that Bob Clark and Alan Ormsby had a huge falling out. Ormsby was fired off of "Popcorn (1991)." Clark was the producer, but said he had no control over the firing.
