So all teslas have a chill mode, which is more palatable for your average consumer not wanting to go super fast, or to save some miles!
I think the mode is genius, instant ability to be able to switch between each different mode.

My parents leave their Model Y in chill mode all the time. They're scared of standard mode. I, contrariwise, leave my Model 3 in sport mode all the time and scare the bejeezus out of my mother when I go to pass someone.

Interesting! Model 3 in chill mode has the same 0 to 60 time as the forthcoming VW ID3 with the most powerful motor. Should be enough.

Chill mode is also great for parking, especially those cramped parking spaces where if you accelerate a bit too much, you'll crash into a wall.

I always have my performance on sports mode and I park on sports mode also have never in 8k miles had a problem on accelerate to fast when parking

Test drove a LR today, chill mode felt slow. Ordered a SRP - praying chill mode doesnt reflect standard in the SRP. The sales guy said it was....

I don't think it will drain the battery too much. Very close to standard acceleration when in standard mode.

I was wondering about this. My girlfriend gets car sick in standard mode because of the quick acceleration and the quick deceleration from regen braking. It was important for me to fix that if I ever wanted to take her with me in the car. So chill mode is a great way to make it feel more like an ICE car.

You have not yet adapted to driving the car. It's worth spending some time educating your right foot. Honestly, you should be able to drive your M3 like a hearse in a funeral cortege in any mode. Chill is fair enough for the first few drives but after that it's a rare requirement.

my fwd taurus is about a 7-7.5 second zero to 60 and that feels quick to me sometimes especially passing on the highway so ill probably keep my tesla in chill mode a lot for daily commutes to not have to charge as often

I would like to see some intermediate mode where you can get Chill mode behaviour for lesser pedal depressions around town and general driving but with the Standard mode reserve if you need it by putting your foot right down. The trouble I find with Standard mode is that it makes the car more nervy. In fact my wife describes it as being like a nervous horse: a very slight pedal movement gives you acceleration that you really didn't want. It seems very all or nothing. For me the real worry of Standard mode is that you can get up to some horrendous speeds so quickly and those can be seriously dangerous in town. When I got my M3 AWD we had a builder redoing our drive and he just laughed. He told me he knew of two M3s in body shops having been pranged by boy racers. I can see how easily that can happen and don't bother taking on BMWs intent on racing; I just let them go. I know I could beat the shit out of them if I wanted; I'm comfortable and mature enough that I don't need to prove it.

I wish chill mode had the same upper acceleration, but chill lower acceleration based on the pedal depression. Like a linear graph for standard, and a curve for chill.
