Its crazy how i learned about chillers doing security letting them in the top floor. Now im studying to be a building engineer. You look at buildings different when you know them inside out.

That is true for all of engineering. I'm a BSME and I love to watch things run just because I might learn something that I might use in another design, even if it is a completely different application.

I have not worked on these chillers directly, but I have gotten to do some work in a central utilies plant that used 6 or 7 of them to handle cooling for several downtown buildings. I'm not sure what the actual heat load they can handle is, but I do know the compressor on each chiller has a 1750 Hp (1300 kW) motor. It's crazy seeing how heating and cooling works at such a large scale!

I had a 3 floor medical office building that used air cooled, which were located on the top floor. Unfortunately there was a IT employee that was right under the compressor/condenser of her 3rd floor office, she called me to find out what it was… I thought she was exaggerating the noise as I stood I. The doorway, however as I approached her desk area to investigate I noticed the resonance was indeed very loud, Simple solution… move the desk across the room. She was satisfied.

make a video on how water tower water loop is kept clean. is it cleaned by chemicals or centrifugal forces? because evaporation must have left the remaining water highly concentrated.

I have a question. is there any way that I could connect the air chiller on my home refrigerator and dump the heat that it ejects into the cooling loop of my ground source heat pump, so I'm not dumping hot air into the kitchen and adding load that the AC must then deal with? It would also keep my refrigerator cooler in the summer.
@VTdarkangel
@VTdarkangel 3 жыл бұрын
It could be done, but I suspect you are killing a fly with a sledge hammer. Paying the professionals, getting the supplies, and modifying an existing type 1 system like your describing would likely cost enough that it would take 20+ yrs to get your investment back.

How do we find the coefficient of performance for vapor absorption chillers? For instance if a vapor absorption chiller has capacity of 800 ton and consumes 21kw of electricity then what would be its COP?
@EngineeringMindset
@EngineeringMindset 6 жыл бұрын
Why is it using 21kW electricity if it's an absorption chiller. COP is the ratio of how much energy you put in compared to how much cooling you get out
