I can never get enough. My daughter asked me the other day. Were or what was my inspiration to try to make a hot sauce business. I said CC was and still is the reason I have the passion. And it was to y surprise. ATX sauce was also inspired by you at about the same time I started following you. He also makes some sauces that I look forward to making. Keep it spicy.

Really nice to see an update. Your tutorial videos sent me down a fun rabbit hole of automation and after a year of using my v1 system I'm already planning v2 with various upgrades (thanks again). It looks very neat on the PCB, something I'd not considered, I think mostly as I'm constantly wanting to change things. Yeah re making stuff public it's a bit of a can of worms, I've been asked a few times already and as I see it the problem is that of support/warranty.

Do you ever have growth in your feed lines? It's always been my concern and has kept me hand feeding plants. My 4L drippers are sealed (two per a pot off a ring main), They were cheap but you can't clean them, seemed like a good idea at the time for the money. Also I'd be worried about killing my microbes & bacteria in my feed with a hot pump working like a food processor. As for mains we have to dig it in 600mm deep and armour it with danger tape above it. Or over head wires, I've used 12V solar fans and battery powered timers. I've thought about a 48v system with DC buck converter and a small inverter where needed. Saves those spendy cable runs but batteries aren't cheap either with running lights or 4 fans nearly all the time. I'm very keen to see your automation setup in detail 👍
@ChilliChump5 ай бұрын
In my first installation I had growth in the feed lines...because I didn't flush the system at the end of the season. I now make sure to run clean water through at the end of the season to clear out any nutrients that may be left in the pipes. I also have taps at the end of each dripper run which allows me to drain the system too. At the beginning of the season I then check that each dripper is flowing and I may get a few that need a clean. But otherwise its all good! Here's a video of me sorting out drippers at the beginning of this season kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4HIqZeiaKeCl6csi=aEgqbFUebIjq-nNB

@@ChilliChump I thought some funk would grow in the pipes with the heat. My current drippers are pressed together. Should probably buy a bag of decent replacements to have on hand. Do you feed exclusively organic, do you think there is any extra risk with organic feed for blockage other than particulate?

@benjaminh.7698 I use a service that localises the link depending on the country you are in. I can't manually find links to the exact product in every countries amazon unfortunately, and on top of that I can't keep them updated and monitor when stock runs out or the product is delisted. The service I use allows me to do that more efficiently. The link is primarily based on the link in the UK, which is where I purchase from. Sometimes the system is clever enough to find the exact product, other times I have a search term which should search for the product and hopefully get close. What specifically are you looking for?

I've always enjoyed your automation stuff. It is very much in the realm of things I like to mess with. That being said, I feel like your actual irrigation setup is an unadulterated bag of dicks (in the nicest possible way). There shouldn't be switches and wires and solenoids all over the greenhouse. Centralise all that stuff and let the plumbing do the work. I also recommend using 19mm hose instead of 13mm because, well, if you do it, you'll see how much better it works out. Sorry, love your content.
@ChilliChump5 ай бұрын
All plumbing is 25mm. The last leg for drippers is down to 13mm, then 4mm. No need for anything more. It's more than enough for the flow rate. And not sure what you mean by centralising? Each grow space is being monitored independently, and therefore controlled independently. The pump is centralised, running 25mm through to all spaces. If I had all valves sitting where the pump is then I would have to run multiple pipes to each grow space. Instead of a single run like I have now. In each grow space I have multiple zones so I can independently water each zone as needed.

What differentiates an unadulterated bag of dicks from an adulterated bag of dicks? Which is preferable?
