this reminds me of the concept of "long lived species" from Honkai star rail. heck even in Genshin Archons are not the ones who have long life spans. the Adepti, Yokai, Kitsune (like Miko) are shown to have longer then human life spans. heck during Furina trial they even used the fact long lived species exist as proof that just because Furina has been alive for over 500 years doesnt mean she is actually an Archon.

This video was beautiful done. This is why I love this game so much. In the beginning we expected archons to be these almighty powerful beings. We were met with deeply flawed individuals with very human struggles doing their best to serve their respective countries. The culmination so far being Furina a literal human given immortality. Everyday struggling trying to be the god her country expected her to be. Beautiful poetic.

Wow ❤ this was pretty heavy. Since last year I've been thinking about these sorts of things. Like how our lives are like mirrors and when we pass, they shatter and the people we leave behind are left to hold fragments of us in the form of their memories, but one day when all who knew us also pass on, we become nothing. There are people who have been immortalized through written text, but none of us remember those people in the way you remember someone you had shared experiences with.

It's a bit disappointing to see the archons so weak and look powerless. Everything felt like it went downhill since Nahida's debut. The archons don't feel like gods at all Some of yall in the replies misunderstand me. I'm talking about how archons are just portrayed as basic helpful people who have some magical capabilities when we're told that they are the one's who protect the 7 nations. In the beginning, when Inazuma wasn't released yet, the main info we had of the other archons was that they won their place as one of the seven as fought in the archon war. Naturally, I expected powerful deities. All we got was a green plant kid and a blue theatre club girl. They helped their nation in ways that aren't exactly what I'd call godly. It's more like a human being helping others in need. Idk if this cleared anything up lmao Edit 2: Basically, what I'm saying is that I expected the archons to be powerful & strong cuz if someone's a god naturally you'd think they have the ability to nuke a city bc what is a god without power right? Nahida and Focalors did nothing of the sort which is rlly dissapointing cuz the 7 archons were introduced as powerful deities in the beginning of the game.

I don't think the archons are weak or powerless. It does feel that way since their strength isn't reaffirmed in ways fatui or other beings are in game but the fact that arlecchino being as strong as she is not on the level of gods (even nahida arguably the weakest god) is indicative of how powerful they are. I do think tho that in terms of strength only the cryo and/or Pyro archon will be able to beat or rival Ei and compete for strongest archon spot (based on well pyro is god of war and cryo one has piero and others under her. If she wasn't strong enough they might have overthrown her cuz khanriehns wouldn't trust gods just because) Rip spellings

I think you need to understand that hoyo it into a different perspective on the gods of teyvat just because there not as strong as we expect them, doesn’t mean that they don’t have godly power we still need to realize that the gods have a higher control over fate it was even said by Nicole it’s just that the seven sovereigns are the original rulers, therefore making them the strongest none of the archons are actually weak they just don’t live up to the power of Celestia and the sovereigns they are still remarkably strong but compared to the seven dragons they are significantly weaker because they have lesser control over the elements with the seven dragons sovereigns being the original holders of the seven element authorities, print the concept of the seven elements itself are the concept of their own ideals rather then there actual element

I mean the woman and literally cut an island in half with no effort at all and this was at a time where she didn’t even have the electoral authority because she wasn’t the archon and nahida is still young so I don’t think she’s fully graphs the true extent for powers as for folcalors well we don’t know pretty much anything about her other than her human counterpart furina the only major that she’s done was destroy a divine throne but other than that, there’s nothing I think Genshin needs to go into more detail about what the Archons can actually do in the actual story rather than just a retailing of what they’ve done in the past
