Safety second for the flat roof doctor. The rest of that concrete will break off within three years. You should of made a cap out of metal and attached.

I have always used plastering sand and granite dust chippings when fluching chimney caps and used to put pillow cases down chimm to stop shit going down good video 👌👍

I believe u i see cracked cement chimney caps all throughout the our neighborhood - i did mine yesterday this way and i it rained and it never leaked im impressed But my question is why wasn’t it done this way to begin with if they knew cement will fail ?

What are you going to do when the rest of the capping cracks, for your product to work you should remove old capping then re cap with the correct mix wait for it to cure then put the sealant on top, ✌

Yes your correct. Doing it the way you describe is better. But the owner did not want to spend more than what we offered. This will last for 5 years or more but eventually the UV's will break it down and then they could do what you recommend.

Do the cracks on the cap need the fleece reinforcement? It’s not as flexible as flashing would be.

I'm glad in the UK we have health and safety rules, that sort of job would need scaffolding, an extra cost but you can come home safely.

Exactly, a huge expense to bring in scaffolding. I could have used a ladder to do the same, but I chose to do it this way.
