It's part of structure so you should apply for building control even if most of the owners are doing it without the permition

Building control is not going to allow these brackets anyone. They require steel beam in the floor. On top of that your chimney is just hanging now until you repair it, it may be too heavy for the wal, so should be supported until supported

Building control passed all the works that i carried on and the council issued a certificate for the chimney breast removal. We done everything that they asked. Non of the works have been done without there guidance.
