Winter Test & how to install a 5 Kw Chinese Diesel Heater in my converted bus.
Basic installation in 8 simple steps. For dummies, like me 😉. If I can do it, you can do it too!
And a winter test. I replaced my 5,3 Kw gas heater, which didn’t keep me warm, by this diesel heater. Does it keep me warm in winter conditions? I went to higher grounds and a snowy scenery to put it to the test. And I ran it on HVO, a.k.a. Blue Diesel.

I wish I could give this video more than just a thumbs up because, after having seen countless other similar Chinese diesel heater installation videos, including Greg Virgoe's, I have to say that this one is definitely THE best of all of them. Well done for explaining it sooooo well. I'm glad that you found it a great success, because I decided about 6mths ago to install one too. (not yet at that stage though) Regards Mark in the UK

Thank you so much Han Verdi 😊 It's very rare that I watch long videos from beginning to end, but yours was very watchable, and also very useful, as I've just purchased a Diesel Heater for my LWB High Roof Transit Custom, and your explanantion of how to fit it has made my future installation so much simpler for me to carry out 😇

I have a 5 KW diesel heater as well as a 35 000 BTU propane heater. I live in Central Canada close to the US border. During the winter in can get to -40C...and that's not including the wind. I'm still working on my bus. Hopefully it will be done this spring. Its about the same size as your, maybe a bit bigger. So on those cold days when i go to work on the bus, i fire up the big heater to warm the bus up very quickly then just use the 5KW heater and it keeps the bus nice and toasty.

Hi Han, hope you are enjoying your bus. You inspired me to get one too. i was hoping you could give us a video or give me a tip on how to install your JUN-Air compressor to maintain the door air. i keep losing air. lol. Great videos.
@HanVerdiHuskyRV
@HanVerdiHuskyRV 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you John, The simple answer: Connect the Jun-Air with a hose to the test nipple of your bus (where it is is depending on the brand), with a valve in between (at the test nipple). Be sure that the Jun-Air can go up to 10 bar (not max 8), and that your bus doesn't have any large air pressure leaks. Because then the Jun-Air has to work too hard/long and will overheat. It is suited for 'maintenance load' only. For example: If your bus is 'in rest' capable of keeping pressure up somewhere between 6 and 8 bar during 3 or 4 ours, you're on the safe side. The Jun-Air will then only have to work once every 3 or 4 ours, and a little bit more when you're using air for doors etc. If you like I'll send you a few fotographs Good luck!

Watched the video. Many thanks for your simple, clear, concise explanations. I am a little curious as to the direction of the inlet air and the exhaust direction ! Forward facing as to direction of travel ? I would have thought that the exhaust at least would be directed to the outside of your bus, and slightly backwards ? So that it may be used when driving ? Or is that contra-indicated (not wise). Would be interested to see any diesel fuel consumption figures that you might collect during your use. I think that considering the lower cost than the European heaters, this will be a worthwhile expense. May be looking at this as a secondary source of heating for ours too.
@HanVerdiHuskyRV
@HanVerdiHuskyRV 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct. Exhaust and combustion air inlet opposit op the driving direction. As mentioned in the installation part of the video. I 'm not in the position of reccomanding using it while driving, but it is most certainly possible. I haven't figured out the fuel consumption yet, so it is a wild guess for now: About 10 liters during a complete and freezing weekend and permanent use.

Hey, dank, informatief. Waarom verlaag je de hertz? Waarom niet de temperatuur?
@HanVerdiHuskyRV
@HanVerdiHuskyRV 2 жыл бұрын

Nice review of those heaters. I was suspicious at first, but you convinced me to purchase one for my bus. It's now on the way. About the custom baseplate you made for it, can i purchase one from you ? Another unrelated question: your Jun-Air compressor, what oil do you use in it ?
@HanVerdiHuskyRV
@HanVerdiHuskyRV 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Frederic Pasteleurs. The baseplates are available, but not by me. If you want an adress, just let me know. The Junair takes special Junair oil. I'll look it up for you and will come back to you later.

Leuke video!
@HanVerdiHuskyRV

Helemaal niks.

@HanVerdiHuskyRV
@HanVerdiHuskyRV 2 жыл бұрын
