I was born and raised in Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone might be a 'democratic' country these days, but they also have their roots firmly in Communism and there are those who long for the return of those days. Not that democracy helped. The country is as corrupt as ever, with only a minority at the top reaping all the benefits. I am not at all surprised that this is happening. After I learned that China has been working with the Sierra Leonean government on BRI projects, I knew this was going to happen someday. The massive problem is that the constituents don't understand. They think that china is there to save them. And with its natural resources, China is never leaving until people wake up. Sierra Leoneans would care about Taiwan if they understood what is going on, but the politicians with their pockets lined by the CCP would never allow that to happen. We have a history of selling out our own people.

There are actually 3 Chinas. The People's Republic of China ( communist), The Republic of China ( nationalist) and the alter ego Republic of Taiwan (democratic). The ROC appeared after the fall of the Qing Dinasty and rise of the republic (1912), the PRC was founded in 1949. The ROC moved to Formosa Archipelago and after a couple of decades the alter ego of ROC started to erupt (ROT), and Taiwan (Formosa) hosts 2 identities (egos) althought not officially, one trying to dominate the other, but without any chance to fight aganst the PRC. PRC has the desire to totally control ROC, Formosa Archipelago or Taiwan since 1949. ROC lost a fight against PRC and lost recently a fight against the alter ego Taiwan.

So much bias n misinformation by these people. China Taiwan conflict is indeed an internal affair. It's an unfinished civil war that started after WWII ended. There are 4 countries in the world in this similar scenario, Germany, Vietnam, Korea and China, ie they were one country one people but at the end of WW2 they split into two due to the Cold War. Two countries have reunified, two are still technically in a stalemate. The CCP may not have ruled Taiwan but Taiwan was definitely part of China during imperial times, this is a FACT, read the history. Also the Republic of China which is Taiwan's official name recognises itself as the legitimate government of all China, ie both Taiwan and mainland China. So both sides recognise that they are indeed one country one people, they just cannot agree who should be the government, that is the conflict.

After the Democratic Progressive Party came to power in Taiwan, it knew that there was no hope for counterattack, so it turned to seek independence. How could we mainlanders agree to that? In Taiwan, in a Taiwanese family, it is often the case that the father supports unification and the son supports independence. This is the only reason why mainland China has been hesitant about unification by force. The people of mainland China and Taiwan are all Chinese, and they are all Han people. Mainland China will look forward to peaceful reunification with the greatest patience and sincerity. However, once we judge that peaceful reunification is hopeless, the Chinese People's Liberation Army will definitely recover Taiwan without hesitation and at all costs with a thunderous momentum.
