BUTTERFLY TWIST SPLITS. WHAT THE WHAT. *Mind blown*
@wushulemushu15 жыл бұрын
i didn't practice my jumps/sets for 3 years and just focused on my kicks until 6 months ago and now that i think about it, it helped me a lot. get your basics down and everything else will just be knowing how to be a good performer. the other part that helps is to have a really good coach too...

this is a really sick video. i wish i was this good at staff.

Zhao Qing Jian has some of the best basics Ive ever seen. Its near perfect basics that allow you make everything seem so seemless and clean. Without basics this guy would have never been All around champion for years and years. I trained at Shi Cha Hai in Beijing with him and the other Wushu athletes. Incredible. Dont say giving up on basics will help you. It will only hinder. It goes "A, B, then C" not "B, C, then A" its one thing after another. No shit to warming up, duh.

It makes me happy to see serious, well organized events like this. Wushu is amazing, very artistic and elegant

You'll never be able to do that without ingraving the basics into your body and mind. Build your foundation friend! Hung Ga for life!

@Njuo i think you are missing the point, their forms require certain required move sets and sequences in order to qualify. How they integrate those requirements into their own personal style is what makes each of those guys different. the butterfly double twist into splits would be a requirement... how they link it into their form would be completely up to them. how they perform their butterfly kick sequence would also be different. To be honest, they were all very different and well executed.

Great video! The technical and athletic level is outstanding. Worldwide, generally only Russians compare to the level of China. However I can't avoid the conclusion that Wushu is getting more and more dissociated with Martial Arts, and associated with Gymnastics and acrobatics. I know what I'm talking about because I have been a chinese martial arts athlete and teacher for 25 years. I participated in Nan Gun European Competiton in 2002. I studied Nan Gun in Beijing. The form has changed a lot!

DAMN! SO FAST!! either they use a light staff or they're really strong! either way they must've had a LOT of training
@FamilyQuan15 жыл бұрын
Awesome! On basics - they are important, but, what actually 'is' a 'basic' changes as you get better and better. Like, practicing horse stance becomes pointless when you're doing over and over in combinations. One footed landings become 'basics' when you can do them. Just train hard, and look for the next 'step up' in the complexity of your movements, and step by step, you can get there if you really want it. Gotta be putting in hours every day though, just like all top athletes.

@5822391 Wushu is not all about combat application, it's also includes the concept of discipline. Learning how to fight is not to hurt, but to defend.

Lynwe, you can teach yourself a lot - check out the basic tutorials, start learning the basic movements, improving strength and jumping ability. Look at what people teach themselves in break dancing and parkour - you may find you have a natural aptitude, and then later on you may find a coach!
