Why do we need all these meetings to discuss the failure of a policy that everyone except the government predicted years ago.

To be fair, I'm surprised that it's taken Stellantis this long. The minute that GM sold Vauxhall to PSA group back in 2017 I knew that it wouldn't be long until the Vauxhall plants here closed.

Sorry, but this wasn't China, this was the fascist British state, who have utilised the power of the state to lay claim to private business, issuing them government directives about what they will do to their customer base. Attempting to co-opt them into forcing EV sales upon the population by creating a punative regime that fines them.

"British" car companies have ben DEAD for 30+ years, they just weren't buried. Stellantis (FIAT) and Renault are the mainland European car companies with VW dead from "immigrant" Muslim workers on lifetime contracts that won't work. Daimler-Benz makes 87% of it's vehicles outside of Europe and BMW makes 95% of it's vehicles in the US because of great LOW-COST labor. Nearly 80% of "Chinese" vehicles are license-built, designed and engineered mainly by FIAT, Renault and in South Korea by the Hyundai conglomerate.

Nothing to do with China.... if Europe cannot compete on any level then tough. I drive a Chinese car and have no issues at all.......if any have minor ones as any new brands have then so what. Everyone forgets how many years euro brands have been around so they have had plenty of practice.

Kind off true, but china took EVs seriously and developed them, we stuck our head in the sand, this is simply the end result of gross incompetence on the western legacy automakers

China isn't the real problem....yet. This green movement started in the 1980's in Sweden to push for nuclear power but then changed their mind and decided renewables sounded better, even though renewables will not support the European economies anytime soon despite the claims.
@somebodyoncetoldmeeeeАй бұрын
Renewables are the future, cheaper than oil and unlimited from the sun. Those who dominate renewables and energy storage will dominate this century - talk about an empire stretching the solar system harnessing the power of the sun!!
@daviddesert3132Ай бұрын
Sweden as Norway has the hydro power ace up their sleeves. Every thing else is secondary to that. They have a couple of nuclear plants and have oil-fired as a last resort.

People are going buy the best quality cars at the cheapest price on offer especially when they have 7 to 10 years gtee. Labour has increased NI which was probably the straw that broke the camels back😂 along with the new rights of workers from day one in a zero hour contract for vauxhall. along with the Unite unions for being too greedy. The car manufacturers are not a charity they are there to satisfy demand of their customers if they make a profit they can continue to invest to satisfy customer needs. Is the jaguar MD saying unless your LGBTQ we don't need or want you as a customer?
