Bruh I don't think calling India right now a far right Hindu nation will be correct, people gave vote to the BJP party because the other party i.e. Indian National Congress was proving worse for the country and Hindu community as a whole. While BJP is not the 'good' side, it's much better than INC and for the Hindu community Tho despite all these claims of Hindu fascism or militancy, I would still say the Muslims are still organizing protests and often violent riots which seemingly don't get publish much in west for some reason...

I hope you take a more balanced approach the next time you do a video on India. There are numerous points that seriously undermine your analysis. 1. Arundhati Roy represents the fringe in India. Its like me quoting Elijah Muhammad to describe US politics. Some examples; her 2010 opinion on the Maoist terrorists in India: "It ought to be an armed movement. Gandhian way of opposition needs an audience, which is absent here. People have debated long before choosing this form of struggle". She further said “they (Naxals) are more Gandhian than any other Gandhian in their consumption pattern...their lifestyle”. She said of the Indian disposition on Kashmir in 2010: “Kashmir has never been an integral part of India. It is a historical fact. Even the Indian government has accepted this”. At the event where she uttered this remark, she also added that India had become a “colonising power” shortly after attaining Independence. 2. The BJP is not “far right”. Does it have “far right” people? Yes. The same way the GOP has “far right” people & the Democrats have “far left” people. That doesn’t make the GOP or Dems far right or far left. If you want to cherry pick statements from their leaders, we can have a long, drawn-out conversations on what the ‘norm’ or ‘mean’ of Indian politics is because in India; for instance, socialism isn’t considered as far left as it is in the US. Branding parties like the BJP as something non-Indians are bound to associate with policies & imagery which does not align with their vision or ideology, is only going to complicate your viewership’s understanding of a pretty complex country. 3. The Farm Laws were a net good for the country that had the support of the almost all mainstream Agri-economists in the country. Some may have qualified their statements by adding that the GOI ought to do more but that does not change the fact that they broadly saw such a move as good. Furthermore, the protests were not the “largest strike in recorded history”. I have no idea where you’re getting your info from but this is extremely sloppy work on your part. Do you even have an idea of large protests can get in India? 4. You omitted the fact that the “protest” comprised of blockading the national capital, causing massive economic damage to the areas the route they blockaded serviced, a full-blown riot on Republic Day that saw the attempted murder of the police by mobs attempting to drive tractors into police lines as well as the lynching of a Dalit man on blasphemy charges. We all know how Trudeau & the Canadian Govt ended the Truckers Rally. Was that an exhibition of fascistic tendency or just enforcement of L&O? 5. Your assessment on Kashmir’s perception shift & tone that implies the revocation of autonomy of a Union Territory that had signed the instrument of accession is quite troubling too. The GOI has spent a considerable amount of time, money & effort in billing Kashmir as a safe place to invest your money or visit for tourism. They have been courting Indian & Emirati businesses to invest in the region, have been working on the USBRL project to connect Srinagar (the capital of the UT) with the rest of India & are scheduled to host a G20 event in the Union Territory. Where is the “Islamist haven” part of your argument originating from? If anything, popular discourse mocks the Modi govt for being too pacifistic following the recent killings of Hindus, specifically the Kashmiri Pandits, in the state & even ridicules the current LG of the state for attempting to whitewash the attacks. More importantly, the state of Jammu & Kashmir under the then Maharaja’s control signed the instrument of accession after being invaded by Pakistan. Legally, after that day the princely state became sovereign Indian territory. Article 370 was a temporary provision & was never meant to be a permanent fixture of the constitution.

"Some far right people" look both of us know that's a lie, BJP today is far more right wing than it was 15 years ago under Advani, one only needs to look at the kind of statements and policies that big BJP leaders make and peddle, the complete capitulation of government authorities to hindutva outfits, turning a blind eye to violence and intimidation by Bajrang dal and VHP, putting up people involved in northeast Delhi riots in municipal elections, perpetuating conspiracies like love jihad, actively allowing TV "news" channels to be hateful towards whatever group the right wing ecosystem wanted to target that day, calling your opponents "urban naxals", bringing up mandir-masjid, etc. Point 3 is just cope, if they were so confident about their policy being "good for the country" should've actually allowed debate for it in the parliament instead of passing an ordinance and then doing a rigged voice vote in the Rajya Sabha and muting opposition mics, having zero consultations with any farmer organisations until the protests happened, and stacking the committee to review them with people who were already in favour of them. Also Bihar did the same thing that farm laws wanted to do back in 2006 and it did not go well for them. So no farmers had pretty good reasons to protest that were never addressed by the government until they repealed them. This is a more France retirement age increase protest than Canadian truckers protest situation. Also the exaggeration of republic day violence and painting the farmers as khalistani separatist is just right wing bs, by the same reasoning every political movement and organisation in this country could be discredited by using violence, discrimination or crime by one of its members. Also yes there was also possibly the largest strike in history around the same time in the form of a bharat bandh done in solidarity with the farm union by the labour unions which saw like 250 million people striking, just because you didn't know about that doesn't mean didn't happen, and yeah the farmer protests were like the largest in a long time, larger than CAA-NRC protests and India against corruption. J&K administration is tone deaf to the needs of the average person in J&K, they have done more to hurt business than any government in the former state's history with their long state wide shutdown and internet blackout, they make stupid decisions like trying to ban the sale of heaters during winter (imagine if a government in your state banned sale of ACs during summer because of the electricity load being too much), they don't have much to show for all their talk and would rather censor the press than have the truth go out to rest of the country, nor does the J&K admin have any real solutions to the rising extremism owing to theirs and central government's own actions aside from sending in more police and more troops.

Hi, as a Pakistani I would like to make one basic thing clear The coup in Pakistan has already happened, in April of 2022. The present regime ministers have time and time again admitted that they were "forced to take over" by the Army. Thus, The nature of military coup has changed. Back before the era of mass media or social media in Pakistan and the world, American backed coups were easy. Now, the army needs a democratic facade to hide behind. A facade which is transparent to Pakistani people as every other week a govt functionary admits army was involved in Khan's ouster and bringing them in, but westerners such as yourself who don't obviously watch Urdu speeches/interviews of these ministers are still thinking there is "going to be a coup"

The core misunderstanding that the world has about hostility between India - Pak is the assumption that Kashmir is the core issue and once that is resolved, the relations would ease out and settle down. The core issue is the islamic Jihadi mentality of the Pakistani leadership, their armed forces & the ISI. The ultimate goal is to capture the sub-content and bring back the "glory" of the islamic mughal empire. There can never be peace between the 2 nations, India won't collapse and Pak won't give up; it is an eternal struggle that began in 1400 years ago.

Shall clarify for the India part:- 1) Quoting Arundhati Roy as your source on Indian socio-political paradigm seriously undermines an otherwise legitimate historical discourse. I would urge you to have a balanced approach in the future to be able to present the nuances of India. 2) Jammu & Kashmir's autonomy was always a temporary provision to begin with, as provided in Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. No other state or union territory has their own separate flag or constitution. It was only a matter of time when some political dispensation with enough will power struck it down. 3) The 3 Farm Laws that were passed in the Indian Parliament were actually introduced in the general interests of the agricultural and allied community, if one read them. It's just that they could have been debated further among the stakeholders and to amend, where applicable. But, the message was conveyed poorly on the government's part and they had to be reversed coz a faction had decided to go on an insurrection spree across town.

You are right this is something that I see in most videos about India made by foreigners or foreign media organizations they just say same 2-3 points that Modi is far right, islamophobic, militant, etc. This is mostly due to the Indian intelligentsia who are the ones spreading such lies about India because they don't like the current government as they don't agree with their politics and policies, they have ties/relations with congress or other opposition parties and most importantly don't like the fact that BJP might finally be able to unite Hindus and other religions by removing caste and religious divisions and the left won't be able to use their divisive politics to gain votes from lower castes by convincing them that govt is taking away their rights. Its true that casteism exists in India but it is stupid to blame BJP for promoting it as they are against it and also it against their own political interest to highlight caste divisions. Also even in this video he quoted "Arundhati Roy" who isn't taken seriously by majority of the population except for elites who are out of touch with reality sitting in their bungalows or fancy apartments in poche areas of New Delhi or Mumbai and constantly begging for western validation just the like the Indian intelligentsia. The intelligentsia cannot accept that Indians are forming own opinion and voting for BJP instead of listening to them and following their beliefs or interpretations of caste, religion and secularism thats why they came up with terms like "Andhbhakt" (blind followers) to dismiss Modi's democratic victory by saying that Indian people are ignorant or bigoted. Even was left leaning until I went out of echo chamber and listened to other opinions and also I keep in touch with left's opinions too but, their arguments were inconsistent with their own beliefs and they were more ignorant about the ground reality. I don't believe that the current government is perfect it is also corrupt like every Indian political party it has made mistakes like during COVID they caused problems to migrant labourers who weren't given warning and were stuck in cities with no income it was after the issue came to light they made arrangements for their transport meaning they forgot to consider them during decision making, on the economic front there are still speculations about Indian growth falling to 3-4% like in the socialist era and this is something which started before pandemic in 2019 when growth had been very low, Chinese border crisis where they didn't do enough but still better than what UPA did in 2013.etc . But the current government is much more reliable and effective in addressing the problems of the country.

It usually takes 2 in a border dispute! Both sides grow stubborn, make unreasonable demands and spend far more than if they came to an amicable compromise. I don't think there is any evidence that the India-Chinese border disputes are more China's fault than India's. Also, China's current conflicts with its neighbors as it grows into a superpower are quite similar to the US's a century ago as it also grew into a superpower. It got into wars with Mexico (ultimately annexing about half of Mexican territory), British Canada (tried but failed), Spain (Florida, Puerto Rico etc), Hawaii (just straight up annexed), and of course the multitude of native confederations throughout manifest destiny. The ONLY reason there aren't present tensions is because the US overwhelmingly defeated and expelled or annexed (and purchased under duress) all other superpowers from their vicinity. China can't do that! India, Russia, Korea and Japan are all ancient powers in the regions China will have to contend with forever.

@@tallest4eva stop whitewashing chinas image, it didnt help. And China is to be blamed for every tension/ dispute between India. They snatched a part of Indian territory of Jammu and Kashmir in 1962, and a de facto border was made called the LAC or Line Of Actual Control, and even in that, China claims more part of Indian territory than it has already snatched away from India, They arre building military bases in that region, and in Galwan Valley Clash, they were trying to enter the Indian side and we gave them a befitting response. They also claim a part of Bhutanese territory as theirs and one of them is Doklam plateau. Now if you see the map, the north eastern part of India is connected through a very small corridor called the Siliguri Corridor popularly known as chickens neck and this is very near to Doklam Plateau. And if china were to gain control over that land, they could easily gain control over that Corridor too because of its elevation. And they unilaterally tried to change the status quo. They also claim Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh as theirs. They also claim control over Taiwan which is just dumb and also over Senkaku islands belonging to Japan, also the Russian Far East. They claim the entire south china sea and have dispute with every country lying on that sea every asean country except Singapore and Thailand have a dispute with China. Bruh the reason BJP got massive vote percentages in elections is simply because people see them as 'saviours' of Hinduism and their policies might not be the best but are still better than Indian National Congress. And no this Islamophobia or Islamic extremism narrative isn't created by BJP, I will agree that it helps them to have more stable voter base but bare in mind just like Jews, Hindu community has been one of the most 'hunted' communities. Being chased away from East Afghanistan in 600s to Modern Day pakistan in 1200s to Modern India in 1947. The threat of being Hindu areas getting reduced is already a threat, North East India is already majority Christian, there are many districts in the country having Muslim majority population. Kashmir being the prime example. If anything this continued pattern of demographic change, partition is alarming. And yeah I like how everyone forgets to display that one thing about Kashmir which happened in 1980s to the native Hindu population there. They got killed or were forced to escape or convert. But the muslims are the victims somehow.

If you're interested in further exploring the concept of nationalism as it pertains to India, it could be worthwhile to engage in a conversation with Salvatore Babones. It's important to approach this discussion with an understanding that the European templates of nationalism may not fully align with India's historical context. India's history differs from that of European nations, as it did not engage in the colonization and decimation of indigenous populations, such as the Maoris, Aborigines, Native Americans, or Africans, motivated by religious bigotry. Being mindful of these distinctions can contribute to a more comprehensive and accurate examination of nationalism within the Indian context.

This has been a fantastic episode. Truly a great transition from the end of the Cold War into where we are today. This would be interesting showing us the Middle East at the end of the Cold War into after the gulf wars to China brokering peace with Iran and Saudi The evolution and development is dynamic because history is never ending the causes of yesterday lead to interesting effects into our today. In my humble opinion we are currently living in the deep breath before the plunge. Then again the same could have been said with Cuba and the block aid.

If they covered China from the Cold War to present day it would just be one constant flow of screwups. The CCP has built its national identity upon screwing up and then turning its efforts to fix said screw up as some sort of national development xD Heck it would even cast doubt on whether Communist controlled China is China at all, after the Red Guard destroyed countless cultural sites and practises (the Four Olds as they were known). Then in traditional CCP fashion they reversed the decision in order to gather foreign (largely Western) money via tourism and investments. You could say that China today is Hollywood China.

Loans extended by China to Pakistan are of short duration and interest rates are very high, ranging from 4.5% to 6%, which is higher than other lending agencies such as ADB, World Bank, IMF, etc., which is generally less than 3%. Is very ironic that USA supported Vietnam Vietcong in war with Cambodia Khmer Rouge came in power after Kissinger allowed bombing Cambodia boarders where Vietcong hide from air raids, saying wars always spills into neighboring countries in form of war refugees or support. USA worked directly with USSR and China to fight Cambodia regime, and USSR and China was against agrarian genocide communisms another irony and myth of international communism.

I was wondering why this video has so much negativity for India then, When i got to the point where he mentioned about his colleague, I got the reason for it. These people think calling someone Hindu Nationalist is something bad but we Indians are proud of it. It's just like calling Biden a Christian Nationalist leader. If Biden talks about Christianity then it's good but if Modi talks about Hinduism then he's bad and by default he's called islamophobic. Even without being an islamophobic they're calling him the name, imagine what would they call him if he's done even 1% of what they're mentioning. Maybe they'll call it a genocide or ethnic cleansing. But the reality is Muslim population is growing faster than Hindus, that indirectly says how safe they feel in India.

The organization is currently planning to expand itself to include all of Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. However this organization is definitely not like NATO but it’s more similar to Warsaw Pact on steroids, this organization have to many diverse members with each of them has conflict with the others (e.g. India vs Pakistan, China vs India, potential Iran vs other Sunni powers) so it’s highly questionable whether or not this organization can serve as counterbalance to NATO.

I have met many American diplomats to India, who are either Christian missionaries or some other philanthropists. Despite providing humantarian aid in impoverished places like Hydrabad and Bengal, they still have yet to convince an Indian that the West is full of decent people. Plenty of the locals view Putin in a better light though he has never done anything nearly as generous for the Indian people like the diplomats who teach trades, sponsor schools and feed the poor.
