Although many people question for the privacy camera issue, however most Chinese people I know did think in a positive way ,more cctv can make u safer. In the 1950s to 1990s period, the criminal rate is very high, people experienced poverty and being robbed all times, at that time really not safe in China. Many citizens go through the very dangerous period. They pass through that period and have a much better understanding. What i know is the UK has much even more cctv than China, rank no.1 in the world is UK.

I've got questions. What are the first steps that I would need to do to move to China? Where in China would be a good place to move if I live on social security?
@manimalworks7424 Жыл бұрын
I heard there're many expats living in Yangshuo, a small city with beautiful sceneries with nice warm weather. Just pack and go. Apply for a tourist visa, best a 10 year multi-entry visa. You'll figure out what to do slowly once you get there. I lived in Xi'An from 2000 to 2010 for ten years and had no trouble at all. There're visa offices in the city, so all I did was extending the visa. If you can find a job like teaching English, that'll be even easier, the school will handle the visa for you.
Maybe you can travel to China first, China is so diverse that it's hard to say what kind of lifestyle you like. You can observe while traveling. Traveling in China is not expensive... However, I heard that there are some elderly Japanese who live in Shandong after retirement.

I don't trust Google results, so I'm going to ask you since you're actually living there in China, do you need to be fairly fluent or somewhat fluent in Mandarin to live in China? Is it true that little less than 1% of the population speak English?
@weizhang2834 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your don’t trust google results which is full of designed data for smear China content, trust me , most of Chinese willing to help you and most of young generations speak a little English, don’t hesitate to ask them when you need help
@canalesjuan356 Жыл бұрын
Basically true. Young generations can speak English but elders can't.
@Ibrahim86373 Жыл бұрын
I bet Sabrina knew nothing about Mandarin when she set foot in China at the very beginning, now she feels at home. China has her own languages, Mandarin is just the offical language, so so many dialiacts are there too. of course not too many people speak foreign languages which has nothing to do with their life, but in big cities, you still have big chances to find people who can speak English
@yhuty929 Жыл бұрын
It depends. Most of the old generation only speak Chinese (Mandarin and/or their local dialect). Even if some old people know another language, it’s usually Russian. But for young people, no, they know English but may be influent

Do not misunderstand, i love China and believe it is a amazing country. But when it comes to safety, i feel extremely safe here in Norway too. I must admit that almost half the time i leave my home i lock it. But for example my sister have not locked her door for 20 years, not even when she goes on vacation. And never have anything happen. The most dramatic was when i forgot to close the door and it stood open, and my neighbour called me and asked if he could close it for me.. lol Yea.. and once a drunk person who was going to visit my neighbour walked in, but he got very embarrassed when he saw us and excused him self very much and went out at once, we just had a laugh about it thou.. lol If you lived in our capital city Oslo, things are a bit different and you will want to lock the door when you go to work.

China is the world's third largest landlocked country and the world's second most populous country. The most populous country is India, whose land area is one-third the size of China. Just google, China's population density is 145 people per square kilometer, ranking 76th among countries and regions in the world. Much smaller than densely populated countries such as South Korea, India, the Netherlands, Japan, and the United Kingdom
@paulanderson7796 Жыл бұрын
Taking the whole area of the country, yes. But the population densities in cities is much the same as everywhere else in the world. There are vast areas of land that cannot be inhabited.

Theres a reason why many older housing/apt have double doors. Inner heavy n thick wooden door and outer cast iron door. Youd need a welding torch to open it. Even bolt cutter cant cut it.
