No he wasn’t trying to justify it. There’s good COs and bad COs. Good prisoners and bad prisoners. Both COs and prisoners do fucked up shit to each other just because they have the opportunity. Vlad was adding a balanced perspective for the audience. Being a CO isn’t easy. I know this lady that worked in a prison and got killed by an inmate couple years ago. Her and a couple other people from my town that worked there died. A prisoner assaulted a female guard, took her weapon and started hurting as many guards as he could. Those people didn’t deserve to die like that. There are some very bad people in prison - that’s why they’re in fucking prison.
