+Chris Likko I feel you. Watching them sort of makes me feel like I'm in grade school. But they just started and it's probably a period of getting adjusted. What made Mike and Dan a good team is that they were different from each other enough and we were able to almost see two points of view in their topics. Right now, I sort of feel like our new hosts are very agreeable and that's slightly less interesting to me. But it takes time to grow into their new surroundings and to each other. So, I'm gonna keep supporting them.

I don't mean to be rude but you guys need help.... the music is loud compared to your soft voices, whoever thought of placing a white background when one of the ladies is wearing starch white should be fired and... well for such an epic tale why is it told so tamely?
@elliechen95869 жыл бұрын
I agree and think the music s a little loud, maybe just turn it down a bit, the white background was probably just a blip, I don't agree with your last statement though, I think they told it perfectly. Overall, I know you didn't mean to be but I think you were a little rude and to OTGW maybe just pay more attention to the little things like how loud the music is or what colour the background is.
@Panda_Roll9 жыл бұрын
Carly Clever I'm being honest, I don't blame the ladies they did their best but it was so clear that there was a lack of direction, at one point the sound effects played over their talk and since they were too loud actually over took them *the carriage one* these are legit editing and directing issues that need to be addressed if OTGW wants to keep putting out quality content.

MuGuiYing was from the Northern Song Dynasty approx. 900-1000A.D. while Hua Mulan was from the the Northern Wei Dynasty approx. 300-400 A.D. Although both are fictional characters the difference is that MuGuiYing is based off of the wife of YangWenGuang who in the story is MuGuiYing's son.
@maythecatbewithyou9 жыл бұрын
Just Btw.: Mulan wasn't even Chinese, strictly speaking, but Xianbei (a Central Asian, proto-Mongolian people... i. e. closer related to the "huns" she fights in the Disney movie). The story is from the Xianbei Northern Wei dynasty (4th-6th century), and thereby one of the few surviving examples of Chinese literature written by non-Chinese. You may also count the Xianbei as Chinese, in the sense that they were one of the many cultures that shaped today's Chinese culture, of course.

@tiaopiak9 жыл бұрын
+Runli Baratheon Wu is the only women who took the title Emperor in China. They are many women who rule as Empress Dowager but mostly as regent.
@runlibaratheon62949 жыл бұрын
I did make a mistake there, the name should be 芈八子 mi ba zi. You're right about all that, during Mi's time as an Empress Dowager, we can basically say that she acted and ruled as an Emperor. There is no doubt on her contributions to Qin. She had a larger impact on politics and the dynasty than many other Empress Dowager which is why I would still give her the credit as an Emperor.
@runlibaratheon62949 жыл бұрын
tiaopiak Also when she died, she was buried with full imperial pomp which is meant for Emperors.
@tiaopiak9 жыл бұрын
The ruler of Qin at the time has the title of King not Emperor. Even if she was given a King's funeral, but she was not posthumously given the title.

Ever heard of Razia Sultana and Rani Lakshmibai from India? They were female warriors too...and in charge of an entire kingdom as well!
@Dragonsamurai3009 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I may have to look into that. I am fascinated by foreign countries. I love their mythology, food, music and ancient warriors. Just thinking about all the wonderful things in other countries is enough to make my mind run wild with ideas. I get my inspiration for the stories I write from researching interesting things from the various countries around the world. For example one of my most popular story series was inspired by a legend from Greek mythology. It was one of the tales of Hercules. The one with the centaur warrior who helps Hercules.
@abhinavkanoria76279 жыл бұрын
Oh wow! I'm glad to know that you write stories inspired by foreign Cultures....amazing!! Do write a story based in India, on some ancient Indian historical/mythological fact. I'd like to read it too!

I've thought about that actually. Just not that familiar with India's mythical creatures. If you can help me out I am sure we could work on it together. A little history may help too. I post my stories on Deviant Art and Facebook.
