Anura Kumara Disanayake, the new President of Sri Lanka is well aware about the national security concerns of India and he clearly stated in about it in February this year after his visit to india as a MP. He mentioned that there is no double standing on india and chaina relationships and they do not allow to use sri lankan soil to any activity which can threatened to national security of India.

You're talking about something that happened in 1987. The JVP was labeled as 88/89 by corrupt politicians as a cunning way to suppress public interest in the JVP. The majority of Sri Lankans have forgotten and forgiven the JVP for the 88/89 incident and have elected a president from the JVP+NPP. Why are you still lamenting about it? We also have a similar kind of media in Sri Lanka called Hiru TV. I think WION is India's version of Hiru TV.

One needs to wonder why every ally around India is leaving India? If it was just Sri Lanka or Bangladesh its probably their problem, when u see everyone around you leaving, you should know the problem is in India and its unreasonable conditions and deals compared to China. Indias biggest trading partner is China, with bilateral trade over 115B$, why so much fear mongering when tiny Sri Lanka looks for trade partnerships just to survive. Sri Lankan leadership since independence has vouched to India that's SL assets will never be used against Indian security interests. Also it's suicidal for tiny island. We respect democractics values, let us elect our leadership which best for our country. We are not electing chef ministers for Delhi. Let us live in peace and prosper as independent nation.
