This is not a great system but ironically if western Europe hadn't undergone something very similar to this it would be a shitshow of retributive violence and amoral familialism like in many other countries. The government monopoly on violence and Christianity making shaming unwanted behavior ubiquitous , essentially along with expelling those who break rules or follow paths that are beneficial for them but ruinous for society (the ruling class of today fit this description ironically) played a heavy role in making western Europe what it is today. Without getting shitty people out of the gene pool and having that shame culture that eventually turned into internalized guilt western culture would be hellish. Believe me, I'm from a shithole in Europe that did not undergo what western Europe has and it's literal hell.

@obsidianstatue6 жыл бұрын
@@that1guy_248 this is a community based program, it has nothing to do with the wider national program, that one is administered through AI and automated process. also the national social credit, is not a single score. go read an article written by Foreign Policy "China’s Orwellian Social Credit Score Isn’t Real" if you're interested in how the system works. I wouldn't say the consequences are too broad, even if you're on the blacklist you're still able to travel, just not using the efficient way, have you seen how some people behave on the Highspeed trains? they there are incidents where people would hog other people's seats for no apparent reason, just because they think they can, some people have absolutely no respect for rules norms and even laws of the country. Did you know, that until 2016 there is no law against assaulting a police officer in China. Chinese laws are weak, and police enforcement is also weak, this has created an environment where some bad people think they can do anything they want.
@that1guy_2486 жыл бұрын
@@obsidianstatue "The social credit system’s use of public blacklists and shaming-what one scholar calls “reputation mechanisms”-as well as the joint punishment mechanism that essentially imposes yet another layer of penalty enforcement for legal offenses are controversial and problematic. The standards for getting put on blacklists, managed by different departments at multiple levels to enforce rules within their jurisdiction, are not always clear. The targets are not always notified and given a chance to contest the listing Some blacklisted individuals have continued to face restrictions after their debt was repaid or the time period for the penalty expired, creating situations such as the man who discovered through denial of his credit card application that his bank was not informed of his removal from the blacklist, and the admitted student who was erroneously denied his place at a university due to his father’s failure to pay back a bank loan. The technical challenges of running such a sprawling, complex system efficiently and minimizing mistakes are mind-boggling. The danger that the Chinese party-state may attempt to develop a global citizen score and start using opaque algorithms to determine one’s creditability for a variety of political as well as financial and regulatory purposes cannot be ruled out..." From the very article you referenced to me. All this system will accomplish is hurt innocent people and keep the poor in poverty. That's my opinion of it anyway.

@@that1guy_248 the take away from the article is that western media hypes up about a headline grabbing story, and turn it up to 20. the article admits itself that they nor any western media seem to understand the system, so if you don't understand something it mustn't work, just like how the people of 1978 can't wrap their heads around a communist country like China setting up free trade zones. Remember not too long ago, western media were all talking about how this system raise or drop your score through your purchase habits? that was clearly fake. remember how western media is still talking about this system as if it's a real time score raised or dropped? even this video failed to clearly state that this scoring system is limited to this particular neighborhood project, they failed to identify that the person taking the score, is part of the Subdistrict committee, and is in noway a national wide system. What I find troubling, is that this story could be embellished by Vlce. the scoring board was a clearly a community project, it's not even electronically tracked just a notice board inside the compound. so why was that guy refused to purchase a High Speed Rail ticket for low score in a community based project? he clearly was blacklisted on the pilot national system, but the report made it look like this community based score affected his rights to travel. At best this is a misleading report or it could all be fake. Vlce hardly does any real journalism anymore.

@@glebsokolov8016 I said it's a perfect system for the corrupt and power hungry political system in Russia. I never said this system was going live or being considered to be adopted in Russia. Russia is European? Really? Is that why like 95% of Russia is in Asia? I'll compare Russia to China all I want. Both countries have had so many horrible and corrupt leaders, Stalin and Mao are the stars. Both countries have been led by corrupt imperial rule, both countries tried communism and both countries failed at it. Both countries do not have freedom of speech/the press. But maybe you're right, there's no use comparing them, it accomplishes nothing. "We are still a much more free European nation." So living in a slightly less shitty place makes you feel good? Ok, it should.
@glebsokolov80165 жыл бұрын
Brennen Cox Look at the map and learn geography. Just because Russia is 70% Asian geographically it doesn’t mean that our culture or race are Asian. In fact, we killed almost all native Asian people in Siberia and European Slavs from all over European populate even regions bordering China. There are less then 5% Asians from our total population, already more European than Germany, UK, or France that accepted so much immigrants it hard to tell in some neighborhoods whether it is Europe or Asia/Africa anymore. But asking nit comparing Russia to China I was trying to say there was literally no connection between both in terms of politics. Soviet Union’s communism never functioned the same way as the Chinese one and our political system is WAY more democratic than in China. Russia still has a reasonable freedom of speech on the internet of comparing to its European counterparts like Germany. Putin is trying to limit the freedom of speech on the internet, but he also faces a huge opposition in the country currently because if that and corruption, so most likely the people will win.
@makaan19325 жыл бұрын
@@glebsokolov8016 there is no single definable "asian" culture or race, that's quite insanse. just as there's no single "europeen" culture. if you are born in the Asian part of Russia, you are from Asia. But though it's on trial, I still think it' must not be overlooked. The cost of putting monitoring people's comments into the Social Credit System is too high, but monitoring people's comments is not that complicated.
