I’m a Malaysian who has worked and lived in China since 1998. I have zero doubt that the CPC has been the world’s most overachieving government in the world in the last 30 years, because I see constant improvements in the living standard, safety, social harmony, environment and healthcare during my stay here. There’s a misconception that China just concentrate in the economy, but they also spent a lot of effort in converting deserts into forests, in alternative energy and promoting the use of EVs.

China knows about massive deaths and suffering. During WW 2 the Chinese lost 20,000,000 people in their resistance to Japanese imperial fascism. 1.5 million of the total 3.1 million Japanese killed during that war, died at the hands of Chinese resistance. In comparison the U.S. has lost twice more people to covid, presently the figure stands at 1 million, while the death count of U.S. soldiers that bravely fought and died during WW 2, was 405,399. In honor and respect of our collective sacrifice, we cannot ever support Neo fascism in any corner of our planet, say no to war and take covid seriously.

It's funny that we Taiwanese are so surprised by the recent global attention we get now. Most of us don't feel that we are in danger. If u come here, u will find that few are worrying about Chinese "invasion". Half of the population doesn't think China dares with Americans' help, which is 1/3 less now seeing the Ukrainian war, the other half population doesn't cares if the government switches to Chinese, as they see that we share the same culture and languages, and envy how quickly Chinese make progress, some disappointed by how badly our pro-Independence government runs the domestic issues by extreme partisan attitude and suppressing rivals.

China is actually shocked and eyes wide in Disbelief as Europe sacrifices their own economic interest and put their people in economic suffering just to please US. LOL. Even the lowest government official in China cannot comprehend their rationale. After the initial shock. The conclusion the Chinese Government has come to is the Oligarchy in Europe has entered into an alliance to revive the Western Imperialist order with the American Oligarchy faction to maintain the current Neo Colonial World Order. Hence the Technology blockade and Military Pact to increase Budget and move to Asia in a last ditch attempt to recolonize Asia or put it under their control. Gunboats aka Aircraft carriers are back. As the Chinese Navy are outnumbering the US Navy pulling in Nato to add up the numbers means Naval warfare chances will increase. I think the US game is to collect Protection fees in order for a conflict free Asia. This is an insane idea but perfectly rational policy for Imperial Powers to maintain control. However as Asia continues its Growth is the manufacturing supplier to the West war in Asia also means Economic devastation in the West and US. This will be a long long game that last twenty to thirty years into the future until China reaches Technological parity or superiority to Double the GDP to US for it to end well. Question is will US and the West start a Nuke war in that period.

Western culture focuses soely on the individual and nothing else. This also means that Western culture emphasizes and praises outright selfishness. Asian culture on the other hand, focuses on the family and the greater society as being the most important aspects in life. Hence, Asian culture values selflessness where self-sacrifice is highly regarded which promotes a much greater propensity towards benefitting the greater good instead of simply being a narcissistic a hole ultra-selfish sonofabitch like Western culture. When you compare the two types of social values it is no wonder Asian culture has been able to survive and thrice much much longer than the short, vile, nasty, violent, brutish and selfish West. Unless everyone has forgotten, humans are social creatures which means that "society" always come first while pure selfishness (Western core value) only leads to self-destruction and ultimately self-annihilation.

Russia's succes in Ukraine for a large part depends on China not necessarily supporting but certainly not abandoning them, and I would be surprised if Russia hadn't asked China for confirmation of this even before they decided to intervene in the Donbass. Militarily Russia doesn't need China, but it does economically, particularly if the EU ceases to be a market for Russian commodities. As the US wanted to make Ukrain Russia's "Afghanistan", Russia now has turned the table and is taking things slow, leaving it up to the US and its vassals to stick by their commitment to a "defeat of Russia" that will never happen, spending unlimited amouts of weaponry and money into a bottomless pit in the process and thereby weakening itself. In a sense Ukraine is becoming yet another "Afghanistan" for the West, albeit a financial one this time. It is not coincidence that the best chess players in the world happen to be Russian. The Ukraine war will last as long as the Russians want it to last, or until Ukraine's manpower pool has been completely depleted. This is starting to make some people in the US very nervous, because every day "Ukraine" lasts longer, China gets stronger. By the time "Ukraine" is resolved, it will be too late for the US to keep China from being the center of gravity of Southeast Asia.

Like him or not, the only hope from the west comes from Macron. Nowadays I would argue that foreign policy is far more important than internal politics with which people in France don't seem to be super happy with Macron. But between hiper inflation and upending of the entire economy and a nuclear war, I still prefer the first...

Would China, Russia, Iran and Brazil for a block? Should North Korea, China, Russia, Iran and Venezuela formed a block? Should all countries that are not NATO/USA form their own block to confront NATO? When does it end?

There is great documentary on little girl born in early 90s up until 21. The modernisation was astounding. How much was centralised planning or how much free market I don't know. How much of alleviation of poverty down to party workers or just wealth creation. The heart of the Chinese leaders beyond my ken but was it love of people or a tactic to counter Democratic threat to their party power?

China is probably everybody's largest trading partner - the position of trading should be in relation to China. How large is Russia for Chinese trading? How large is Ukraine to Chinese trade? IMHO, the CCP is much more consequential than the US political leadership. An observation: a lot of people know about the 27 million Soviet casualties in WWII (25% of Belarus, 17% of Ukraine and 13% of Russians with similar numbers from the other republics). I honestly didn't know the numbers reached 20 million in China during WWII - thought the war in the Pacific only connected to the war in Europe after the Japanese Imperial Forces attacked the US and the Japanese expansion started decades before WWII. I also had heard about the hugely important contribution to the Allies fight against the Japanese forces. I also know about the Chinese Great Famine. China not voting against against Russia was an acceptance of conquest wars. I really don't buy NATO expansion as a reason for the invasion - nor that crazy idea about Putin wanting to re-create the pre-soviet Russian Empire. You know what would happen if thousands of nuclear weapons exploded over Russia? The world would end. Nuclear missiles are only useful for deterrence and some specialists claim they aren't useful not even for that. I would really like to learn why Russia invaded Ukraine and I fear it's part of a long game non-linear war waged by somebody else - not Russia. If China wanted to stop the invasion it could have done it.

What is this nonsense of 100 years of humiliation? Britain suffered 350 years under Roman rule and when they left was invaded by the Vikings, the Germans an d then by the French! That's perhaps 1500 years of humiliation. As for Nato 'encircling ' Russia as I recall Nato did not seek additional members when the USSR collapsed - rather the former members of the Warsaw Pact fled out of mistrust of Russia, a mistrust engendered by the Soviets behaviour in 1956(Hungary) and 1968(Czechoslovakia). This behaviour gave rise to a deep distrust of Russia, the dominant nation in the USSR.

I would love to hear a respectful discussion, debate of these issues/topics. I think both points of view need to be aired, especially now, when all is so polarized.

As much as I admire China, they would not have come to the rescue of Russia as it faced a militarised NATO build up in Ukraine, US ships in Sevastopol, warfare bio labs, missiles pointed at 80% of Russians placing them in mortal danger.

If NATO started bombing Russia That's it end of the world for 80%of people Remember you have India, North Korea, south Africa You got 65% world population will be on Russia side Western countries, only 35%

Brian, you're one of the few who've mentioned this contradiction. Foreign Minister Wang Li said, with emphasis, "Russia and China are not allies, but closer than allies." Notwithstanding, China has maintained an embassy in Kiev, which it moved this March to Lvov, the epicenter of Banderovite Nazism. All the Chinese media outlets have expressed a neutral position in regard to the events in Ukraine. Now, wouldn't turnabout be fair play and Russia take a neutral position in regard to the imperialists' targeting of Taiwan? Perhaps Russia should even open an embassy in Taipei. If anyone thinks what's going on with Russia and a very few weak allies facing off against all the NATO-member states is part and parcel of a "new Cold War", they haven't grasped what's been going on the last 77 years and how much NATO has taken deliberate steps not only to take Russia's victory in 1945 away from her, but has taken aggressive steps to put the military forces of the NATO-member states into position for another attempt at Operation Barbarossa. But, Brian, you're appealing to the opportunism of the CPC Central Committee, not its internationalism, which it has proved in practice to be seriously lacking. In the midst of the re-emergence of an aggressive global fascism with an alliance bigger by far than Hitler's own isn't the moment to be practicing "peaceful co-existence". Ever hear the phrase "Socialism in One Country"? What would a "win" mean for NATO in Ukraine? Five words: On to Operation Barbarossa II.

Exactly right. China's very delicate balancing act is extremely precarious and at some point China will have to jump to the Russian side for survival. Russia daring to intervene in Syria - which could have meant their planes being shot down by US planes which were protecting ISIS convoys of fighters and oil - was the start of a game changer i.e. the first country to prevent the US regime-change agenda which had been 100% successful up until then. The US/UK anti-Putin, anti-Russia demonising has been cranked up since Russia intervened in Syria, a full year after the U.S. was supposedly bombing ISIS. Instead, the U.S. was protecting ISIS convoys of stolen oil, convoys of ISIS fighters and weaponry, etc. Without Russia, Syria would now be ruled by the duped head-chopping proxies of the U.S., U.K. etc. Then, the U.S. and U.K. would get public support to invade Syria.

lf you want a historical and factual account of India China border conflict, l suggest you read the book titled "Nehru,Tibet and China" written by Avtar Singh Bhasin. He's an ex diplomat of India. Even many Indians were shocked to find out the truth. China had been demonized beyond hope of a reconciliation with India and there's so much amends that should have been done on India's part.

@@stevencher9968 I agree. All Indians should read his book to learn the truth that they have been fooled all these years.
