I figured out what I’m gonna be for Hallowe’en
But all the stores are already done in Christmas scenes
And I’m less sure about him
Each year that passes by it seems to get more dim

Are they for real or is it my dad just faking them?

I hope that Santa is the one who’s making them
I am not quite ready for Christmas time
Our chimney’s blocked so how would he get down there
Reindeer don’t fly so how would he get anywhere
Have I been lied to all along?
I’m trying to decide if they are right or wrong

But I know my folks work so hard
Mom works all day and my dad is never home at night
I know they try to make things right for me
I guess my folks won’t take credit
So I’ll pretend that I am still not going to get it
