Size of the economy has not much to do with military power. Russia is around 2 Trillion dollars and still is very powerful in terms of its military capabilities. I am excited for India's rising power. I am excited to see what they bring to the table, and I am hoping they can become a new powerhouse of manufacturing. I am hoping they push out China's rise. The world will be better for it as India is a country with deep and long history of democracy and passive resistance. If there was a hot war, I think the west would likely take the side of India and would send high tech weapons to them for them to use to defeat China. I am deeply excited to see the rise of India indeed.

Just look at the modern history of both countries and you will understand. India was colonized by Britain for more than 200 years. In 1947, Britain experienced World War II, with its strength greatly reduced and its position replaced by the United States. After that 4 Indian warships anchored for 3 months in south china sea and loitered in and around Taiwan straight, even dropped anchor in front of Kinmen islands. Is that a joke to you.
