I've not seen the entire podcast but i'm very disappointed abhijit sir didn't touch upon the fact that there were elements within the british government that actually wanted war with germany prior to ww1. because of the anglo-german trade rivalry of 1887-1913 german exports had exceeded those of great britain for the first time and because of this people within the british government started planning a war against germany. the plan was to totally humiliate germany. also very disappointed he didn't touch upon the fact that there were elements in the serbian military and i believe also the russian government that had foreknowledge of the plot on franz ferdinand's life and decided to keep quiet about it so that a war would happen, because they too wanted a war in europe for their own reasons

The question we must ask why we were so weak that anyone who came to India could rule us pretty much unchallenged. I think India became weak because of the varna divisions and irrationalism. Had we adopted equality, rationalism and humanism, we would have been strong and would have kept the invaders out of India.

You are discussing world war 1 and saying that Gandhi ji was helping to recruit soldiers for British? Are you serious? Gandhiji just arrived in india in 1915. He was not even a big leader before 1920. World war 1 occured between 1914-1918.
