I've not seen the entire podcast but i'm very disappointed abhijit sir didn't touch upon the fact that there were elements within the british government that actually wanted war with germany prior to ww1. because of the anglo-german trade rivalry of 1887-1913 german exports had exceeded those of great britain for the first time and because of this people within the british government started planning a war against germany. the plan was to totally humiliate germany. also very disappointed he didn't touch upon the fact that there were elements in the serbian military and i believe also the russian government that had foreknowledge of the plot on franz ferdinand's life and decided to keep quiet about it so that a war would happen, because they too wanted a war in europe for their own reasons

WWI and WWII histories have been thoroughly studied in depth in the west and what Abhijit said is common knowledge of an average Joe in the west. One does not have to be a time traveler to be historian. History is done by following certain well known scientific process. FYI history can NEVER be done by people with a political agenda to falsely glorify their past.

Sir you said that Gandhi influenced many Indians to join British Army but the fact is that Gandhi came India in 1915, war started in 1914, he than travelled whole India for 2 years and got pan India recognition only after Champaran and Kheda satyagrah in 1917 and the war ended in 1918.
