China Warns The Netherlands of Confrontation Over Chips | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Chinese President Xi Jinping warned of a "confrontation" with The Netherlands unless supply disruptions in the semiconductor supply chain are plugged. The comments were made during a meeting between the Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte and the Chinese leader. Last year, the Dutch government imposed an export licensing regime on chip-making technology under pressure from the US. This has affected the sale of "high value" products by Dutch company ASML to China. ASML is the largest producer of chip-making technology, constituting 62% of the market supply. While the Dutch PM has downplayed the impact of this chip war on overall financial ties, it cannot afford a trade war with Beijing. Palki Sharma tells you why.

Knowing this, ASML and netherlands and west are trying to also make changes and restructure, *so they are the ones who are preemptively making changes while china still is using old machines.* .... and not china ! This situation is a little more complicated. Many countries spend a lot of money on improving machines for making chips. ASML makes machines from parts from many countries. China send not only money, but also their talented students to work on those machines. Everything was fine, until one moment. When USA said, no more selling ASML machines to China. Making litography machnies is not an easy task and patents blocks anyone from entering that market. There are two solutions for China: 1)Make different machines with own patents 2)Don't care about patents and just copy ASML's machines.

It's not about patents. You think it's patente that are stopping China from copying ASML machines? No. It is the technological bottleneck itself. EUV machines have millions of high tech precision parts. Making or copying it is not easy even for China. Same with engines. If it was that easy to copy, usa would have their own and so would China already. Every country would also have domestic engine technology. Parents only apply to private companies. Not to superpower countries who deem that technology to be a matter of national security. You can think of it like nukes. If usa or China patented nukes first, you think the other will care and not copy or reproduce it if they can?

@@ex0duzz Patents are only one of the many problems. To make litography machines they also need to make very good lenses and reflectors (Zeiss is making them for ASML). Another problem is the chemical composition of the waffers. What light sensitive chemicals use for different layers. What chemicals use in etching process. Also big problem is boxing (microsoldering chip outputs to traces on PCB).

The west was rich powerful in the past, but now the East is where the future is in high tech for next 30 to 50 years. Then India would've been on the hit list. Time for countries to be self-reliant. Don't rely on the US of A, otherwise you will get told who you can do business with and when you can do business... or worse, turn their backs on you and get everyone else to do the same. "China stole technology" - I think we're all still waiting to understand what exactly they stole. It's half a decade already... I'm dead ass still waiting. Plus the Chinese not even concerned, they making an alternative EUV building... in 2-3 years, Chinese chips are going to really enter the market. Within 10 years I'd say... there's going to be gallium-based chips which will dominate the market, which are WAY better than Silicon-based.... and China has 90% of the world's gallium supply... So yeah, definitely don't do business with China... so that China can get even stronger by themselves.

Wonderful move by China. As a proud Indian🇮🇳, I really love ♥ and have a lot of respect for the incredible work of Palki Sharma really interesting story *How British looted 45 trillion from India* which is as a masterpiece of the highest quality. Its content is truly inspiring and I thoroughly enjoy watching it. The dedication, talent and hard work poured into the video are greatly appreciated by many. The Indian Union Public Service Commission has also deliver a remarkable report titled संघ लोक सेवा आयोग *How Britishers killed 1.8 billion Indians. Chronology of British Raj's exploitative policies* | UPSC," is equally astounding. The Indian government consistently produce insightful and thought-provoking articles of the utmost caliber. I sincerely hope they continue to produce such captivating exceptional work. Can it even get better than that? They deserve an award for best report of the year. Thank you for telling the truth.

First, it was done over a very long period of 200+ years. Not all in one go. And it was the British policies and laws implemented that killed 1.8 billion Indians, not that they were executed
@PraneeI
@PraneeI Ай бұрын
The two main policies that wiped out 1.8 billion Indians are: 1: Allocation of food: Since the British were at war all the time, they didn't have people to do the farming. They made India do agriculture and then take it away. causing a massive famine every week. 2: Plundering of India's natural resources The British forced Indians to mine all the natural minerals in their country and carry them to the ports to be shipped back to England every day. extremely dangerous jobs, and these poor Indians weren't fed, and hundreds of millions succumbed to the exhaustion. The whole of India was ruled by only a handful of Britishers. Why India chose to never fight back baffles many to this day. Maybe India is just obedient by nature.

The Italians back home probably saying _"what the fook Meloni???"_ Take Germany for example; a once powerful country all went down the drain because of the U.S.! As Prof Mearsheimer said recently in front of an Indian crowd at the Bharat Rising summit in India, and to Palk(!)'s face: _"there are only THREE great powers - The United States, China, and Russia"._ The latter two does NOT report to Washington.

Netherlands need ASML and keep their market share with China as well since China was already making larger IC chips by using ASML equipment. That is why Netherlands PM went to talk to China for licensing the lower end models. If ASML dont do licensing with China for lower end models, China will one day make their own equipment to compete with ASML by all means so that is the whole scope of Netherlands PM trying to do now to keep ASML and secure their market share. And USA is not wise in such matter for banning everything from lower end model to top models, or the elites behind Washinton DC are too wise to make the Dutch go broke so they will loose ASML to go to China as what they always do in the chess play.

A fire in one of their factories brought the whole venture down to an end. You can Google it and read about what happened. Making chips is not the same as assembling a motor vehicle or building a ship. we are talking about having the purest of the pure and cleanest of the clean working environment for a start where the tiniest speck of dust can mean disaster as we are also talking about the microscopic world approaching molecular sizes. @@user-yq5he3rg8o Someone made a comment online saying that India does not hate China for being India's declared enemy. India hates China simply because China does not even regard India as enemy. All the Indian actions and talking points boil down to one simple sentence: "LOOK AT ME!!!"

@@user-yq5he3rg8o You're right. In fact, China has never even looked at the United States as a "competitor" as well. China's aim has ALWAYS been to make life better and better for its people - aiming for the sky. HOWEVER, for some strange reason, the U.S. AND India keeps on claiming that they are competing against China and that China is competing against them. It is a very weird phenomenon and attitude. In the 1950s, China did look towards the U.K. as a "target" to attain and by pass in key technologies - in particular, the production of steel in tonnage and the U.S> in the production of wheat during the GLF - Great Leap Forward. There were hard lessons to be learned from the real failures in the GLF program - principally, (a) the production of steel at the cost of farm production resulted in a decline in food output, (b) the quality of steel was poor as it was being turned out in backyard furnaces that could never achieve the high heat enough and tons of pig iron was produced instead, (c) the faking of the wheat harvest by village cadre leaders afraid of being able to achieve their targets led to the wrong data being collected and wrong decisions made that led to the creation of other problems. China learned after those disastrous mistakes and with the success of Deng Hsiao-ping's program in opening China up and creating "free trade zones" and "science and industrial parks", allowing China to get more than a jump into 20th century industrialization, it brought in immense fortunes and benefits - all which then allowed the country to forge ahead on its own. No more competing against this or that country but rather, compete against itself appears to be the new mantra and philosophy. The West has not woken up to this - despite the number of times that China has kept repeating its message - "it has no interest in being Number 1. If the U.S. so desperately wants to keep its Number 1 crown, it is welcomed to it. All China wants to do is work in mutual cooperation with mutual respect and within each others own sovereignty so that both will benefit from the relationship. India, on the other hand, is at where China was in the 1950s in thinking and looks at China as a "target" to try to beat. However, as we have seen, it really isn't working. What TRULY works is when a country REALLY has programs that works FOR THE PEOPLE as the target. So far, Indian politicians work mainly for themselves at the end of the analysis in trying everything they can imagine to gain power and stay in power. They see China as a "competitor" because it is easier to target at a foreign country that has a different political system and make them as an "enemy". These sort of tactics have been long detailed and covered in socio-political books on the subject (such as "The Republic" by Plato, "How to Spot a Fascist", by Umberto Eco, "The Social Contract" by Jean Jacques Rousseau, "Ancient Chinese Thought, Modern Chinese Power" by Professor Yan Xue-tong, "Justice Among the Nations: A History of International Law" by Stephen Neff - and many more others) and nothing has changed from what they wrote about even though some of the authors, like Plato goes back a long time ago because human nature has not evolved from when human beings first walked out of their caves wearing animal skins.
