Keep voting for politicians that don't listen to you, Philly. This is definitely a good example.

The very 1st time the Sixers management PUBLICLY considered Center City as a possible location for a new arena, I knew this was a DONE deal. CC is NOW prime real estate. Neighborhoods in Big Cities where Chinatown's was once considered an inferior location, are now being eliminated or are drastically reduced via gentrification.
@FredGSanford-hu1ukАй бұрын
gentrification ???? all the white people are moving to NJ. The Jigaboos have ruined this whole city !!!

Don't forget Comcast offer to Sixers to build a brand new arena in South Philly....

It will be a traffic nightmare, people will NOT take public transportation. Also all of the people and businesses in that area will have to schedule their lives around the Sixers schedule and any other events at the facility.

So much push back to change in an ever changing world. There is a bigger picture, Jason mind your football and swift.
@MrJjrob97Ай бұрын
The bigger picture is your decimating a historical rich cultural hub for a couple dollars. Seat prices will be more expensive and the Sixers will continue to lose

Sadly Chinatown doesn’t have a fighting chance…. They tried to make it nice with an Offer however they will take it however they can… My family lived at 18th & Callowhill in the early 50s into the 70’s when “eminent domain “ (for the better of the people). Developers came together and destroyed our neighborhood to build what would be called “Franklintown” The developers displaced every single resident, knocked down our homes and nothing ever was developed other than a high rise built for elderly people who were I’ll. In recent years it has been renamed “Baldwin Park “. Don’t waste your time Chinatown…. They’re taking what they want weather you like it or not.

Philadelphia is not a major basketball city, and the ugliness about how the Sixers ownership has pushed this terrible idea will backfire on the team. Ultimately, the thing that will make this stadium a fail is that the traffic will deter most people from attending the games. It is too much to ask for people to sit in traffic on week nights after long work days, and who wants to sit in traffic on the weekends? Honestly, the Sixers aren't a good team now. How do you expect them to progress if half the city hates them and they other half aren't going to this stadium with no parking? I hope this will wake people up to fight against people trying to turn Philadelphia into New York. We don't want to be New York. We are our own city. Stop these billionaire weirdos from trying to ruin our city.

Saw this coming when she didnt give a straight answer about the stadium on the campaign trail. I voted for Oh but Philly wanted another Cop apologist non progessive old school Mayor

Er not sure why it blindsided him. Even I knew the mayor was leaning this way and rightfully so. Its a WIN for the city! I've always like Kelce but I dont recommend he wade into this. But I know why he says that. He lives in the suburbs and can you imagine him using mass transit with his fame? Not gonna work. Folks will adjust and everything will be fine. Build it NOW!
